I am about 100 miles south of St. Louis in Illinois in Randolph County along the river and I did not feel it.

Sorry for the spelling error in the title - Admin can you correct? Several minutes ago we were hit with what sounded like a large explosion that felt like our house was rolling. County wide according to scanner. People out in the streets and 1000 calls to the police in a few minutes.
We are 100 miles south west of Chicago. Police calling it an earthquake...

visiting relatives in suburban chicago tonight and felt something like whole house shifting. just checking online to see if anything's up. we thought it was an earthquake too but it didn't set off car alarms.

Thank goodness someone else felt it (and thank goodness, once again, for Free Republic)!! I thought I was nuts! I'm in Northwest Chicago and felt it! It woke my wife & me up and my son, who came into our room and asked why the house was shivering!? Wow!
