I've been trying to get to their site for days now...I'm cubicle-bound and I miss my Fox News! Any info would be appreciated
Good thing our IT guys aren't libs (or whoever tells them what to block on the server). Can't get MoveOn.org, DU or even FOX News. So far, they haven't blocked FR.
Try again and make a new favorite. That might work.
My SWAG - There is filtering software on your company web proxy. There are probably policies set to restrict some types of browsing, and foxnews.com falls into one those.
They redesigned the site to make it absolutely awful. Consider yourself lucky it won't respond to your browser. I un-bookmarged it.
Sound like some liberal dumbass is blocking it through teh firewall, no fear though,
try the IP address:
http://66.54.3.18 (what computers hear when your browser says foxnews.com)
The navigation is absolutely awful.
Whoever designed it need sto read "Don't Make me think" by steve krug.
Thank You Conservomax! Thank You! Thank You! Finally, Fox News.
Thanks to Everyone else for their suggestions and input.
Were you using the complete address including the http://, sometimes with www. it isn't enough.
To those who hate the new Foxnews layout (as I do) one alternative is to set up an RSS newsfeed reader, which allows you to just scroll through the headlines, which are presented much like email subject headers, and then click on the specific news item you want to go to rather than trying to make sense of the Foxnews layout.
RSS newsfeeds are easy to set up and get, and there are lots of free software applications that allow you to do this. There are many ways to learn more about RSS newsfeeds, but one of my favorite sites is:
http://channels.lockergnome.com/rss/
RSS has dramatically streamlined my news reading, and it's easier to set up than I may have made it appear. It allows me to scan the news items from numerous sites in less time than it used to take me to go to sites individually via my web browser.
is your monitor facing forward?
Hmmm-- I see that the lockergnome site has an anti-Bush add on it. Heck with it.
I apologize....I hadn't noticed that. I also hadn't noticed any particular political slant from Lockergnome up until now, probably because I only see the article headlines, not the ads, because I use an RSS newsreader to grab headlines from Lockergnome (a practice of mine that will be soon amended) My apologies.
Another place to learn about RSS newsfeeds is at any one of the numerous articles linked at About.com

Let me know if you ever need more help clogging your company's bandwidth. ;-)
Have no idea, but turned on TV and to my surprise, FoxTV military analyst said marines should have flattened Fallujah six weeks ago, and that now, in spite of surgical strikes on the town, foreign 'insurgents',(terrorists), who were there in Fallujah six weeks ago, are now scattered in other cities. So being PC hasn't worked out. Who knew. Sigh. Meanwhile, Biden says the Bush admin. is 'internally paralyzed over Iraq'. We need to kick some serious ass in Iraq and ignore the press and other naysayers, who are not our friends and do not want us to succeed.
Out of curiosity, is cnn or msnbc blocked? Where do you live/work?
Sounds like your company started blocking it. Our blocking system here makes it look like it is just unavailable.
I think it was msnbc...I'm in Ft. Lauderdale.
