That's a common sense way to look at it. How things play out on the ground is a whole nother matter. Most states can keep sexual predators locked up after they've served prison time by showing society has a continued need to keep them from release, as they are "a continuing threat to society". "Normalize" deviancy & you take a tool away from the judicial system. The next step would be to try to decriminalize the activities. Notice how part of the push to change the standard involves saying there is insufficient proof of any harm to the children victimized. I've read elsewhere about that & it's been said society's negative attitude is a bigger problem for the children, than the actions of the perp.
Actually, having pedophilias in the general population of a prison IS a cure. Once they're dead, they're cured.
