I was disturbed by Dan Rather.

There is a "Texas" link between Dan and Bill. Dan's daughter has been (or is) a fundraiser for the TX Democrat Party. Bill in 1972 was the TX campaign manager for the McGovern-Shriver ticket. You can be sure that "Texan" Dan voted twice for Clinton and then for Gore and now for Kerry. Take it to the bank!

And given all that, even that Rather was so pathetically bad, (playing a video tape of his late mother talking about what a great son he was....please!), Slick Willy didn't do himself any favors. He came off horridly.

And I dare say that he didn't do Kerry a bit of good. I'm glad I watched this, and I hope I see a whole lot more interviews!

Klinton never intended to have a great presidency. He used his Arkansas office as an opportunity to get girls. He was a grifter at heart right from the beginning.

The stories he tells are all self aggrandizing or seeking pity. The man is a psycho.

I a Boomer too. We are exceptions to the rule though. Obviously not all people born in the group we call the boomers are cut from this sort of clothe. I am referring to influential archetype: Urban, liberal, educated "knowledge worker," Boomers whose formative years are deeply marked - some would say "scarred" - by the emerging "counterculture" youth movement of the 1960's (as opposed to the movement's popularization and comericallization in the 1970's.)

These people were actually all born before say 1951 and no earlier that 1943 or 1942. They are the ones that are causing us all the problem in establishment elites.

And, like the Clintons, these people are mostly beyond redemption and can not be educated as to there faults nor shamed into rejecting their nefarious ways. It is hard to understand this but the simple truth is they will not change even in old age. Whatever nexus of historcial forces, character flaws and historical, social and cultural mischances and mishaps formed this bunch they will not change.

They are without conscience or shame. The consistency, persistency and pervasiveness of their solipsism and narcissism is so uniform across a certain group that it cannot merely be a lack of character. It is as though they have contracted a generational moral pathology.

What is signal is the odd paradox that while they are completely absorbed and obsessed with themselves they have such small selves, and what little there is to them is in the end not very interesting, or if interesting then only as a cautionary tale.

Even the most superficial cannot abide this level of shallowness and spiritual mediocrity forever. Look for them to get even more loony as old age approaches for they will not look it in the face, not ever. The self-delusions, the urge to deny will just grow stronger with each passing year. NO generation has done more damage to this nation as this one has, and they are really just getting started.
