Received a cellular call from Jeff this PM . His brother who has been suffering for a long time may be losing his battle with cancer. Jeff and his family are enroute to Texas and will pass thru here Saturday afternoon. Jeff has asked all to please include his Brother and his family in their prayers for the next few days.
Prayers sent for Jeff's brother, as well as Jeff and his family.
I'll be praying. God bless you, Jeff, your brother and your family.
Terribly sorry.
Prayers for Jeff's brother and family.
I arrived here about 7 PM after 30 hours of travel and 1650 miles (you guys can do the math...it was a long, hard, grueling drive).
I found my brother doing amazingly well. He's been fighting lymphoma for about three years now and he's in the final stages. He has been blessed to out live the doctors' predictions to date by four to five times longer than expected. He is determined to do so again.
Things are dire and all of our prayers are very much appreciated and I believe they are being answered and helping.
There was significant question when I left early Friday as to whether he would survive the weekend. His kidneys had stopped functioning, he was suffering from acute liver failure, and his blood counts were dangrously low. He was retaining a tremendous amount of liquid in his body cavity and his legs were swollen to the point of cutting off circulation and there was very real danger of gangryne. Despite the liquid retention (which is coing from damaged internal organs) he was also extremely dehydrated. The doctors indicated that he was in very real danger of not liiving another 24 hours. He sounded very bad over the phone.
Since I started the trip the progress is simply amazing. He has been rehydrated, they pulled about 12 liters of fluid out of his body cavity successfully, his kidneys have kicked back in and the swelling in his legs has gone way down and his urine is looking more healthy. His voice is much, much stronger and his mental attitude regarding continuing the fight has increased 100%. We are hoping and praying that if progress continues, he will be able to at least come out of the hospital and continue the fight with hospice care at home.
He is by no stretch out of the woods. His liver is still very bad off and only 25-35% of his blood is getting through which is causing all sorts of problems and is continuing to be the major immediate threat to his life...longer term, the lymphopma continues on there and elsewhere unabated.
But, he had made great progress and he knows a lot of people are praying to God in Heaven on his behalf in addition to his immediate family and friends. He and my enitre family thanks you all. We know God's will shall be done in any case and are praying that we are prepared either way.
Please continue to pray for my Mom. After having lost my Dad, her husband of 57 years, at the end of January, this is particularly difficult for her as you can imagine. It is difficult for the entire family...but we shall trust God and hope we are all prepared for His will and to cross over Jordfan, to that distant but familiar shore when our respective time comes...having lived a good life and fought the good fight.
I will try and give another update here in the next day or two. Again, on behalf of myself and our entire family, thank you all so much...God bless you each! Faith and prayer like this make these difficult moments passable and help promote all of our strength.
Prayer and faith are God's own tools...and He lets us wield them if we so desire to open a bit of a view into His will for us.

As you well know, the power of prayer is beyond measure. Thank you Lord for what you've done in Jeff's brother's life!!!
I'll be praying extra hard for Mom. This IS tough for her.
God bless ya, Jeff...you and your whole family.
The power of Prayer and the friends to send em for your family reflects on you Jeff and the life you have led.
Get some rest and I'm glad your brother is doing a bit better.
Stay safe !
Prayers up for Jeff, his brother, and all their family.

May God bless your brother with his healing grace.
