Learn to shoot the AQT.
Are you a Rifleman or not?
And all this time I've been shooting at golf balls! You're supposed to use clay pigeons?
Going to the range tomorrow. 40SW and 44 mag.
One of the first things I did after 9/11 was get my handgun permit.
Apparently, I'm hopelessly out-of-touch.
Either that, or there are 3 people doing "Pilates" this week, a 300% increase over the week before (making it one of our fastest growing sports).
I got a Ruger 10/22 for Christmas. I'm heading out to the range tomorrow with some neighbors to fire some heavier stuff, like .30-06s and .30-30s.
The Los Angeles riots is what has people sharpening their skills out in these parts.
That piece of history sold a lot of guns as well.
I think if gangs and the like ever made it to the suburbs, they might not expect to have it as easy as in Los Angeles.
Odd. While I do enjoy shooting as a sport....
in my family...that is not why we learned about firearms and firearm safety. It was more because it (with the concept of hunting and self defense) was a good skill set.
Along with things like fishing, proper usage of a knife, field dressing, setting up camp, etc. Also comp and map usage for Land Nav.
I can surely understand its growth for recreation and sport though. The way I was taught has been refined through recreational usage.
I imagine liberals are going into full freak mode over ideas of more kids being taught safe use of a firearm.
Clay shooting is fun as hell.....even though I'm extremely erratic at it.
Good lord. Pilates isn't even a sport. The author of this story is a nitwit.
LOL, all a flutter girly liberal boys banging away at clays with their scatter guns,
OK lads, now pull the plugs on those 12 ga. pumps and auto goers. Slap in five 3 inch loads of high base double 00 buck and let'er rip. You can put 60 individual rounds of lethal .36 (9 MM) soft lead balls 30 yards down range in a near nano second.
Those innocent clay busters are also WMD for close up work. Notice cops never leave home without one strapped next to the dash or in the trunk.
Not a home invading perp born who won't defecate yellow at that sharp mechanical "snick, snick" of a trombone action being made ready for him.

My gun club in northern New Jersey has a two-year waiting list. Many clubs in NJ have been forced to close and there are fewer and fewer places to shoot in the state. My club is fortunate in that we own our land -- most only rent. The big NJ Federation range at Cherry Ridge is on Newark watershed property and I've been told that sooner or later someone will complain about lead in the water and the place is closed down.
I love paintball.
