STRANGE how some people behave! She is in love with a man more than twice her age which could be usual. She had a ten-year affair with the same man from the age of 15 that is unusual.
But most unusual of all she has declared her undying love for the same man, but he is her own paternal father!
But, thats not all. The couple sired two siblings from the incestuous affair.
This did not take place in one of those Saturday evening African movies but in Harare, the magistrates court heard Tuesday.
Statement Gamara (52) and his daughter Monica (25) pleaded guilty to a charge of incest when they first appeared before the magistrate court on Friday last week. Zvinongoitikawo ( it happens), was all Monica could say when magistrate Judith Tsamba asked her why she fell for her own father.
Tears tumbled down the cheeks of shell-shocked relatives in the gallery forcing court officials to drive them out of the courtroom. But they would soon return and shed more tears as the story unfolded.
According to the State, led by Savious Kufandada, about 25 years ago Gamara impregnated his sisters friend only referred to in the charge sheet as Stella and the two got married. As per custom Stella went back to her parents home to give birth and was blessed with a baby girl who was given the name Monica. However, she did not go back to her husband after giving birth.
The court heard that Monica grew up in the custody of her grandparents and her mother.
Stabbed by the strange sword of loneliness, Gamara married another woman called Plaxedes Phosa. In 1993 Gamara demanded custody of Monica and was given the child. Five years down the line Monica fell pregnant as a result of a love affair that had budded between her and her father.
She lied to her aunt, Hardwick Gamara that the pregnancy belonged to a boyfriend in Kuwadzana.
The aunt ordered the niece to pack her bags so that she could facilitate her elopement but Monica threatened suicide by attempting to take poison.
Knowing that the child in his daughters womb was his own, Gamara intervened, taking custody of Monica under the guise that he did not want his daughter to suffer.
He said he was going to look after his daughter as he did not want her to suffer, read the charge sheet.
Later, Monica gave birth to a baby boy thus buttressing the couples marriage as they continued to live together. A few years later, Monica fell pregnant again, giving birth to a baby girl.
This time Monica admitted that she was having an affair with her father and that the father was also responsible for the first child, Kufandada said.
The father and daughter decided to run away from where they were staying and started a new life in some other place. But it was like running away from their own shadows and surely like a veldfire, word about the odd couple quickly spread out leading to their arrest.
Tsamba is expected to sentence the couple on Wednesday.
In a related incident, a Chinhoyi magistrate has also deferred the sentencing of a Chinhoyi teacher, Washington Kuipa and his daughter Alice who are facing five counts of incest to June 22 this year.
The two lovebirds first fell in love in year 2000 when Alice, now a trainee student of nursing at Chinhoyi hospital, was aged 16. Chinhoyis odd pair has also pleaded guilty to the charges of incest.

"The Wisdom of Wood Yee"
I do not believe that Gamara and Godzilla have ever appeared in the same movie, let alone be arch-enemies.
good one
Not all their battles were filmed.
Yes, one would think that a "maternal father" would be quite rare. Of course the term "Fatherland" (as in Department of Fatherland Security") is feminine in both French (la patrie) and German (die Vaterland).
This reads like a Marquis DeSade novel.... CREEPY!
I thought it was Das Land, and didn't change in compounds.
JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!
'Nuff said....
Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
Well, you know what they say: "A family that lays together stays together."
Gamera is friend to all children!
Well, in the song "Die Wacht am Rhein" (at least as sung in "Casablanca") they sing "Die Vaterland" over and over. But you're right, if it's das Land then it would be das Vaterland.
I just looked. Alta Vista says "das Land" so you're correct.
Gamera is really neat! He is full of turtle meat!
From the Bible to the popular song,
There's one theme that we find right along.
Of all ideals they hail as good,
The most sublime is Motherhood.
There was a man, oh, who it seems,
Once carried this ideal to extremes.
He loved his mother and she loved him,
And yet his story is rather grim.
There once lived a man named Oedipus Rex.
You may have heard about his odd complex.
His name appears in Freud's index
'Cause he loved his mother.
His rivals used to say quite a bit,
That as a monarch he was most unfit.
But still in all they had to admit
That he loved his mother.
Yes he loved his mother like no other.
His daughter was his sister and his son was his brother.
One thing on which you can depend is,
He sure knew who a boy's best friend is!
When he found what he had done,
He tore his eyes out one by one.
A tragic end to a loyal son
Who loved his mother.
So be sweet and kind to Mother,
Now and then have a chat.
Buy her candy or some flowers or a brand new hat.
But maybe you had better let it go at that!
Or you may find yourself with a quite complex complex,
And you may end up like Oedipus.
I'd rather marry a duck-billed platypus,
Than end up like old Oedipus Rex.
--Tom Lehrer, "Oedipus Rex"
Keep in mind, incest is relative/sarcasm off
Charity, like incest, begins in the home.
My first thought after reading the title was to see if the story had occurred in Arkansas.
Just ewww!
I thought this was going to be a story about Lot in the Old Testament. Didn't he impregnate both his daughters? (Don't have a Bible at hand to refresh my memory)
Apparently I double your feelings!
