When thinking of the War on Terror, I think WWI. We did not consider the German people as bad guys then.

But if the US continues to have problems with Islamofascists, we will eventually turn to the WWII attitude and treat the people of the country they way we treated Germany and Japan in WWII regardless of who of what party is president. The Iraqis who were are not this time blaming for Saddam probably do not have this historical perspective, but they would do well to come to understand this.

I hope and pray that W will find out from ol' willie about what to feed Saddam so he'll end up just like Jim McDougal did...

Why keep this tyrant alive? Is the US going to make the same mistake as Israel?

It was a mistake to publicize the capture of Saddam in the first place. Actually, I posited a certain idea in mind for the fate of Saddam, OBL and others in a piece that I wrote [for the Washington Dispatch] about what to do with the Nick Berg murderers and those like them:

"...I disagree that there should be a trial. This is isn’t even war, much less is it crime. A trial would be a long cruel process for anyone with a heart, especially for the family. It would also be a victory for the perps, especially if they are convicted. Legal proceedings would only be useful if there were a possibility that something could be learned.

Nothing positive can be gained from a trial. We don’t need to know their names. We don’t need to know their life stories. They are unimportant. A more appropriate ending would be what I have been hoping for Osama Bin Laden. They should simply disappear – one by one.

“Say, have you seen X?” A few days later, “uhh…where’s Y?” Let their contemporaries wonder what they had in common. Thus, they would be denied their martyrdom and publicity. They would remain in death as anonymous as they were in life, which is proper. They are nobodies. Let them stay that way..."

I posted an article 2 days ago about the Red Cross giving an ultimatum for Saddam's release.

Couldn't have said it better myself. These murderers don't need a public trial.

The GPS micro-transmitter embedded in Saddam's Johnson will allow him to be located wherever his Johnson goes. ;^P

I'll bet he gained length and girth from that implant.

Heck, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see him turn up back in power. I trust a group of muslims just as far as I can throw them.

I think we should hand him over, but at room temperature.

I'm not very optimistic about the future of Iraq. The trouble is, after a few decades of Saddam, the only people there who have had the courage to oppose the Bathists are either dead or didn't have the resources or the wits to escape. After liberation, the problem will get worse as it becomes easier for the most skilled Iraqis to leave. I think it is very possible that Saddam could come back to power.

Agreed! I think I just heard on the news (I'm at work so don't always get the details) that Bush has said the security situation in Iraq is not such that we could turn Saddam over to them.

Nah, why would they? Now they have the power not him. The point you raise is not valid.

Has Anyone Considered This Horrible Possibility? Does anyone on this forum consider it a possibility and even a probability that someone in the new Iraqi government might facilitate the escape of Saddam Hussein so he can run to New York City and have a sex change operation paid for by Medicaid billed by dishonest doctors catering to the transgendering and get gallons of all the female hormones and grow huge boobs and go on a (post-op) date with Mayor Bloomberg and end up becoming Rush Limbaugh's fouth wife? That's a possibility that I don't think enough of our national security apparatus has considered.

Shouldn't we raise the Alert Level to mauve or burgundy or something really serious?
