Bible 'leads to Israeli oil bonanza'
The Guardian ^ | Sunday June 13, 2004 | Conal Urquhart

The bible has inspired many to have faith in heavenly joy, but now an Israeli company believes it has helped it find wealth on earth. In an announcement that could shift the power balance in the Middle East, it claims to have discovered a £3 billion oilfield in the centre of Israel. But Tovia Lushkin says his company, Givat Olam, needs £18 million to develop wells and extract the oil.

The find comes as instability in Saudi Arabia and Iraq has forced oil prices to a 15-year high which may yet slow global economic growth.

Is this like one of those offers from Nigeria where I just send them $20,000 so their uncle can access papers at the bank for $18,000,000? ;) And then they'll repay me half?

What are the estimated proven oil reserves? The article doesn't say.

Easy! Until a well is drilled and tested, they are zero.

You are probably right being skeptical about this, but wouldn't it be fun to see the French (nay, European) reaction if Israel turned into an oil exporting country?

If so this would only inflame the Middle East further. Afterall the Palis would consider this their wealth being stolen. [Not that they ever would have found this oil if it is there.]

There's a couple places in Texas that had enormous oil reserves. They called the guys that discovered them crazy while they poked around looking and looking and looking and looking. Yep, they were all crazy until they hit the mother load. I believe some of them were even religious and thought God was leading them.

If this is true, I bet the anti-semitic rhetoric currently coming from the EU ceases, as they weasel their way into Israeli oil. Much like the weasels in France, trying to get in on the Iraqi action, now that the hard work has been done by the U.S. and it's coalition.

SORRY!! That's just not true so please don't spread that kind of story.

I heard this prophesy about the oil in 1985 .. and I have been waiting for it to come to pass.

We're in the last of the last days.

I have always believed that oil would be found in Israel, and found in monster quantities!

This would very much be a "God thing". Many of the enemies of Israel have been enabled to do much of their evil due to their oil derived wealth. When Israel starts pumping oil in huge quantities, this wealth will be seriously damaged. God has also promised to abundantly bless Israel in the "latter days", which we are in.

A company I have been following for some time that also it will find oil in Israel in vast amounts is Ness Energy

I don't know all the details about how Israel became an independent country, but weren't all mineral rights relinguished as part of the deal? I don't think Israel has any claim on whatever oil there might be under their land. Maybe the deal was brokered after the 1967 war.

Maybe someone who's more familiar with this can give an explanation.

Thanks,

If we just send them our credit card number and our pin number from our bank account, the oil will flow?
