Aside from constantly complaining about Bush's 'tax cut for the rich,' the union guys I work with have a mantra for socialized medicine...socialized medicine...

I'd like to print this report out and slap them upside the head with it (then follow up with open-fists)

Go to the source document on Town Hall, there are embedded links to the National Post article and the study.

First time I heard anything about socialized medicine was outta the mouth of a SIL heavily into union politics. Twenty years later it's "mainstream".

Tell the union guys you work with that every single thing the government provides at taxpayers' expense is one more thing that we don't need union leaders to negotiate for us.

Just in case those morons were wondering why the national decline in union membership has coincided with such things as minimum wage laws, Social Security, etc. . . .

That is hysterical since unions have some of the best health insurance around. They want to trade first class treatment for forth class treatment at best. I've been to Canada, their healthcare system sucks, but what can you expect for "free"? What they don't realize is that for the additional money they are paying in taxes, they could have first class coverage.
