The New York Post ^ | June 11, 2004 | Richard Johnson

Posted on 06/12/2004 1:32:23 PM PDT by NavySEAL F-16

RUSH Limbaugh put out a statement yesterday that he and his third wife, Marta, had separated — but only after PAGE SIX called to confirm what we'd learned exclusively. Sources in Palm Beach say Marta dumped the burly blowhard and vacated the couple's home on North Ocean Boulevard. The two are quietly working out a divorce agreement. Limbaugh met Marta on the Internet and they married in 1994. Since

If he didn't get a pre-nup then it's his fault.

"Rush May have to eat his words after giving so much grief to the "Toe Sucker" and the "Cigar Man"

You're kidding, arent you?

The networks would accept Rush as one of their own.

"close to 70% of divorces are filed by women"

Some men leave and never come back and she's forced to fight for money. Also, some men don't want to look like the bad guy so he let's her file. Yet, on the other hand, more women then ever are the ones wanting out.

I can't believe that you guys automatically think it's her fault.
That's the mentality that makes women leave men.

I've been thinking the same thing.
Why is everybody assuming that SHE dumped HIM???
Maybe HE'S the one who dumped HER!!!
(Hmmmm... but doesn't that imply it was her fault also???)

Hmmmm... I know! I know!
It's Bo Snerdley's fault!
HE'S the one who's supposed to screen everything so it works out smoothly!

I am sure he has a pre-nup but the pre-nup will be meaningless if Marta has information that will entice a publishing company to give her a big payday.

When there are no kids involved, divorce isn't a bad thing.

What kind of name is Marta anyway? It sounds like some transit authority.

"For the record, I've seen my husband through more than this."

You set the good example for women, then. ...same for men. Most people won't accept what they're supposed to do in marriage. Most people look for any excuse to move on in their adultery and serial polygamy, otherwise known as "falling in love" and being romantic.

I'm acquainted with a man whose wife is in treatment for alcoholism. He helped to hide her problem for a long time (normal in husbands who have alcoholic wives). Social workers and single cops have been trying to take their kids from him ever since. ...first rule of romanticism: all men, and only men, are evil dogs. So far, all of the multitude of frivolous/false charges against him have been dropped/defeated, except one. He's fighting on.

They did not meet on the internet. She wrote him a letter, snail mail. Was the internet even in full swing 10 years ago?

I think it's been established that she filed for divorce. They've been living apart for awhile now. Look guys, so what she had a failed business. A drop in the bucket for Limbaugh. Not to mention the tax write-off. This guy has had some very public embarrassments. Drug addicts are very difficult to live with. Especially the kinds of drugs he did. Very tough mood swings. Believe me, I know.

"When there are no kids involved, divorce isn't a bad thing"

True. And if Catholic, the church grants an anullment easier. She did have children and divorced 3 times. I think it doesn't matter how old her kids are, this divorce will be hard on them. It is said the older children have a harder time of divorce then younger ones. So much divorce myth out there.

If it's not your blood parents it has little effect on you. I'm on my third set of step parents.

What a bunch of crap.

I agree, it is. This is not a news article. It's from "Page Six" of the NY Post which is the Gossip section of that paper and hardly deserving to be considered news.

Pretty trashy article. Rush announcing on Reagan's day wasn't awfully classy either. It must be difficult living in a goldfish bowl. Hope no one gets hurt.
