They indeed met on the Internet, over on CompuServe, in the ISSUES forum, probably the Rush Limbaugh section. He participated there from time to time. Was there, remember it well. (Other FReepers covered this in another thread yesterday).

The Internet was indeed up and running then, I was active from early 90's on, first on Prodigy, then CompuServe. Lived through the first of the two Clinton regimes only because there was a place to go to acquire some sanity. This was before we had FR, of course.
