He said he would start at 11:25, 5 minutes before the funeral. Whether or not the radio affilates will carry it is another matter.....

He mentions it won his site. Don't know if it is memebers only, or what. It will be up to various stations if they choose to carry it or not.

Yes, I think it was connected to Madrid.

I remember 6/11 being specifically mentioned several months back, as a date for U.S. to be more cautious.Today is mid-way between the Madrid attack on 3-11 and 9-11.
To: Semper Paratus
Exactly. I was struck by the date. Invert it and you have two of the greatest tragedies in our country's history. 6/11 is the date we mourn the passing of a great American and a great President. Invert the 6 and we have the date Islamofascist terrorists attacked our country and slaughtered 3,000 Americans in cold blood. Such is the judgment of Providence.

They present events without commentary Well, at least not during the event. They provide plenty of "commentary" afterwards.

And liberals can be trusted to be unbiased during a memorial service. Yeah, right.

CSPAN has had the best coverage. No commentary, no meaningless news scrolling along the bottom and no commercial breaks.

From Rush's site:
Don't miss Rush's live, commercial-free, Iran-Contra-free coverage of the Reagan funeral -- Friday at 11:25AM ET

And no talking heads yammering over the coverage. Their coverage of people going through the Rotunda to pay their last respects to President Reagan has been outstanding--without an excited voice saying, "There's Thatcher! There's Gorbachev!" On days such as these, I just want them to shut up.
As far as cable news goes, Fox has been the worst, CNN next, and MSNBC--at least Lester Holt--has had the good grace to be quiet for long periods of time.

Was reflecting last evening on the fact that Lester Holt was more respectful than Brit Hume. Seems there is no one on FNC that doesn't think it's about what THEY think!

This is a story that tells itself. Most journalists can seem to grasp that concept.

For this reason, I expect security to be extremely tight around the National Cathedral today.
