Earlier this morning I wrote about my upcoming citizenship and you people offered me such sweet messages right in the middle of this wonderful thread.
I was so moved by the prospect of becoming a part of this great nation, having viewed it from the "sidelines", and it hit me that I can now aspire to be an American too - and do what I can to live up to the ideals I heard this morning.
Thank you for taking a minute to give me encouragement. I apologize for being selfish - it was the splendor of the moment when it hit me.
There was no other place to write about it but here. Without knowing - this place - the writers here - those who share their thoughts on the topics which abound on FreeRepublic, have helped me to decide there is only one country for me. The U.S.A.
There were so many things to remember and I was fortunate to have taped it all to read again and remember, especially when I raise my hand and Swear My Oath.
"trouble"
Your words brought a big grin to my small face. If nothing else. you have drawn strength as "independent" from the United States. I hope you achieve all of your dreams.
God bless and keep you, make His face to shine upon you, be merciful to you, and give you peace all your days! Thank you for your inspiring words.

Judy

no apologies necessary whatsoever. I'm glad you posted.

We're always here to lend a helping hand, give a cyber hug, or send a prayer.
We'll laugh at you, with you, chide you, but always be glad you're here.
It will be a proud day for you when you take the oath. My future brother in law will also soon be a citizen. I hope to be at the ceremony when that happens. May God bless you and now go make us proud as a new American!!
FRiend, you've done as much for us today as we have for you (in my case, at least).
So much of today's celebration of this man's great life has been over our joy in how he changed the world, and your joining us is living proof of that.
Welcome, when you take your oath! Be warned, it may be a rough road :-); you'll share some great moments with us, though!
God bless you.
