Let`s not forget how the lefties were screaming bloody hell when all this was going on, especially the OJ of the Senate, killer Ted Kennedy, something he is doing all over again to this day. My apologies to Freepers from Mass. but I would say you have a tremendous problem with the idiots up there who keep re-electing that sick bastard. I mean he`s only been Senator for over 40 freggin years, and in 40 years the people of Mass still can`t find one guy more suitable than that nut!?? This time he`s even worse because now he directs his rantings to the world against his own country, if you can call the US his own country anymore. "The Iraq war is a farce" Just lovely Teddy, that should get us some help. A guy who kills a woman and gets away with it, is a full blown alcoholic and is nothing short of a traitor..Yeah, this guy should be in the Senate. Holy sh*t!

I agree. Doing so will mean their election chance is toast.

That's the kind of guy who doesn't want people to mention that before Rome's fall... the men were spending way too much time drinking lead-tainted wine and peeking under each other's togas to run their empire.

Nobel, Schmobel . . . they gave that thing to Arafat, it ain't worth shit now.

And Jimmuh Carter, the Great Failure. Democrats cradle and nurture failure, and detest success. Jimmuh Carter fudged around with Iran for 4 months. A day into his term as President, Reagan announced the hostages were free and coming home.

The massive outpouring of respect and love for this great man is much more rewarding than that POS Nobel Prize.

ted postol loves to dismiss things that he has never worked on. He also loves to point out weakness in design to the world. I wish that clown would either help or zip it.

Much of the Roman Empire was builtby freemarket conquest. he Republic had no army. Rich citizens raised armies and financed their outfit then went on conquest expeditions in the manner of joint stock companies. The soldiers were paid by shares in the plunder which also paid for the whole enterprise if it succeeded. The conquerors then set up tributary states to provide an income for the entrepreneur and taxes for Rome and installed their proxies as rulers. Eventually these states were turned over to or taken over by Rome directly.

Nicaragua, El Salvador, Poland & the Eastern Block, Russians, former Russians states

These staes are considered by folks on the left as being illegitimate because they were wrenched from their proper place as parts of the Soviet Empire. Their attitudes therefore don't merit notice.
