Anyone else catch the blurb about some cell phone/GPS "jamming" exercise that the US mil is doing from 6/10 thru 6/20 on the East Coast?

There's advisories out to maritime cell phone users, saying they "may experience difficulties and should rely on short-wave" (or whatever the alternative was - don't remember right now).

OK..maybe the tinfoil is getting too tight, but..

Weren't the Madrid bombings cell-phone activated? (Think they were). Maybe we have intel about a similar attack on the East Coast and are trying to disrupt it? (Obviously this would have to be ocean-side since they're not going after inland communications).

Something is very odd about the timing & location here:

- 6/9 - 6/20 is right in the middle of the time we've been most concerned about re: attacks
- East Coast (ditto, location)
- Seaside (lots of speculation about harbor attacks, sea-based attack)
- US Naval exercises - getting the boats out of dock..

Kinda makes ya go hmmmmm...

J!!! Excellent thinking, I'd completely missed that. IMHO it is a plausible theory. Many of our puzzle pieces fit into that theory. Way to go!

Verrrry interesting, you have a good thought/plan.

That would explain the reasons for some of the other "happenings", as in Seattle, Las Vegas and Florida.

I do not doubt that we have the equipment to do it either.

Your observation this afternoon about GPS jamming, the cell phone activated attacks and all the ships out at sea is very interesting. I haven't been able to get it out of my mind. You're right, they've been announcing expected interuption of service on the local radio. Maybe I'll head to the mountains this 4th of July rather than the beach. In any event I don't think I want to be near a harbor.

I've been thinking about your GPS/cellphone comments! It makes sense to have GPS disrupted in say- the Florida area- due to military exercises---but why the two- distinct areas of GPS shutdown?

Also about the "environmental" whacko alert to cities on the West Coast and one in Massachusetts. I am wondering if the environmental whacko threat is a cover for an AQ threat to those areas. Notice all the fires burning, the hazmat incidents, and the like. Also the "device" found near a Seattle ferry-- just thinking out loud.
