I was hanging out with my friends last night at the Burbank Metrolink station, looking for trains (railfans), and we kept noticing a large number of military trucks and other vehicles heading southbound on Interstate 5 toward Los Angeles.
While I know in the past I have seen small convoys in California, with up to 20 vehicles, this went on for two hours, with probably 150 vehicles in total. There were Humvees, troop trucks, communications trailers, military fuel trucks, military wreckers. even flatbeds with camoflauge containers. Toward the end there were some hummers with blue, green and white convoy flags. When the white flags went by, I joked, "Here come the French!"
Was wonder if this was some type of normal deployment, or something else?

Shortly after the news broke about the beheading of Paul Johnson, several of the 'credible' (and I use that term loosely) Arabic forums became inaccessible. After some time, they were available again, but only if you were a registered user. They also disabled their new member registration function. This occurred on at least 5 of the main forums that have been proven to contain credible information regarding terrorist activities and/or threat specific intelligence.
F-14 Crash Kills Both Pilots In Central Iran
TEHRAN (IRNA) -- Both fighter pilots of an Iranian F-14 Tomcat were killed Monday morning after it crashed near the central city of Isfahan while landing.
The plane, based at the Sixth Air Base of the Iranian Army, went down and exploded while on a drill flight, the public relations office of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army confirmed, adding both pilots were 'martyred'.
Military experts have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash, it said.

June 22, 2004 -- HOURS after Paul Johnson's decapitated body was shown Friday in Riyadh, Saudi Interior Minister Prince Nayef bin Abdul-Aziz announced that government forces had killed the man responsible for the murder, Abdul-Aziz al-Mouqrin, and two of his accomplices.
"This crime was committed by a handful of deviants," the prince said.
A few deviants? Hardly.
The tragedy that struck Johnson is the product of a culture of hatred, arrogance and cruelty built over decades by the Saudi society.
