Islamic radicals are establishing operative bases in Poland, Bulgaria and Romania, Rolf Tophoven, director of the German Institute on Terorism and Security warned.

This article wonders why drinking is up since 2001 as compared to the '90s. Maybe 911 and constant terrorist threats here, there and everywhere in the world? Plus a fuller breakdown of any moral compass at all to guide society? That's reason enough, I would think. Hic!

More Americans Abuse Alcohol, Study Finds

Thu Jun 10, 5:46 PM ET Add Health - Reuters to My Yahoo!

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - More Americans are abusing alcohol than in the 1990s, but fewer are technically alcoholics, U.S. government researchers said on Thursday.

They found that the number of American adults who abuse alcohol or are alcohol dependent rose to 17.6 million or 8.46 percent of the population in 2001-2002 from 13.8 million or 7.41 percent of the population in 1991-1992.

The researchers cannot say why heavy drinking is up.

"The fact that alcohol disorder rates are highest among young adults underscores the need for concerted research on drinking patterns that initiate in adolescence," said Dr. Ting-Kai Li, Director of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism.

The NIAAA study defines alcohol abuse as causing a failure to fulfill major role obligations at work, school, or home; interpersonal social and legal problems; and/or drinking in hazardous situations.

Alcohol dependence, also known as alcoholism, is characterized by impaired control over drinking, compulsive drinking, preoccupation with drinking, tolerance to alcohol and/or withdrawal symptoms.

Across the decade, the rate of alcohol abuse increased to 4.65 percent of the general population from 3.03 percent, while the rate of alcoholism fell to 3.81 percent of the general population from 4.38 percent, Li's team reported in the journal Drug and Alcohol Dependence.

The survey was done by the U.S. Census Bureau (news - web sites), which interviewed more than 43,000 people face to face.

The survey found men more likely to abuse alcohol than women and people aged 18 to 44 were more likely to abuse alcohol than older people.

"Alcohol abuse is more prevalent among whites than among Hispanics, Blacks, and Asians. Alcohol dependence is more prevalent among Native Americans, Hispanics and whites than among Asians," the NIAAA, one of the National Institutes of Health (news - web sites), said in a statement.

"That rates of dependence overall decreased is not surprising in light of other surveys that indicate a decline in heavy drinking," said Bridget Grant, who led the study.

"That alcohol abuse seems to be increasing presents intriguing questions. What is clear is that no single environmental cause can explain the increase. Further research is an important public health priority."

The only other lists I know of are Cindy's, yours, All4One's (I've seen someone else string some incidents together, but cannot for the life of me remember who it/they was/were). We NEED to gather together tanker truck incidents, fires, etc. etc. at least for the past 2-3 months to get the best perspective of where these incidents are occurring and how often. It takes hours of hard work and I hope someone reading this will take it upon themself to take a stab at doing it.

I renounce the precepts of Masonry forever. I cannot in good conscience be a professing Christian and have my Lord Jesus Christ as Soverign in my life and remain a Mason.

God bless you brother and praise the Lord! Demolay almost sucked me in as well [no pun intended], but I hauled my rear after the first "degree" when I found out my particular chapter was nothing but a bunch of homosexuals, and the lodge dad was a pedophile. [circa 1977]

Quix asked if I knew anything about Masons. I told him I do not, other than the gal I knew who was inducted as a Rainbow Girl (I went to the ceremeny actually). Haven't seen her in years. I went with her father (who is now deceased). They were really nice people. That's all I can tell you. Quix may have more info as to why he asked me about it.

There is a difference between carping from the sidelines and actually having to do the job. If he wins, he may find that he may not control events so much as events control him. But I am not sure we can afford "on the job training".

Hear! Hear! As always, thanks for your thoughts.

Wildlife officials estimate nearly 27,000 American white pelicans have abandoned their summer nesting grounds at a national wildlife refuge in North Dakota. The question is why -- and where they went.

Animal instinct anticipating natural disaster??????

Your observation this afternoon about GPS jamming, the cell phone activated attacks and all the ships out at sea is very interesting. I haven't been able to get it out of my mind. You're right, they've been announcing expected interuption of service on the local radio. Maybe I'll head to the mountains this 4th of July rather than the beach. In any event I don't think I want to be near a harbor.

Those links are more on the deconstruction of western civilization by gramscian agenda which fits hand in glove with the supposed masonic infiltration in sectors of the Vatican. According to some, the NWO is supposedly a high level masonic game plan and Malachi Martin wrote of it in his books.

It is important to note that much good is obviously done by the lower levels of masonry especially regarding children and hospitals. The highest levels are supposedly satanic in orientation.
