U.S. Charges Australian Linked to al-Qaida

WASHINGTON - An Australian held at the Navy's prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, will face a military tribunal for allegedly training and fighting alongside members of al-Qaida in Afghanistan (news - web sites), the Pentagon (news - web sites) announced Thursday.

re- news items disappearing. Absolutely yes. The first time I noticed it was when there was that tanker fire near Bridgeport, CT, which melted 95 in both directions. Not only did the article disappear, Homeland Security's OWN warning that same morning was declared bogus.

Well, aside from the latest EOM screed (reposted at thecabal's backup board)..

As usual, he's claiming that "in a few hours, all that you fear will begin..the time has come for Amerikkka to undergo total and complete destruction".

This was written 6/9 (apparently).

Wonder why it's not getting more airtime. Maybe we're all "EOM'd-out". Of course, it's worth noting that we're more than "a few hours" away from when this was threatened, and are all here just fine and ducky.

Everything seems to be quiet and light-hearted on the thread this morning. Reagan's funeral is proceeding along with dignity and reverance. All seems normal and quiet here in NYC on this 6/11. I was dreading coming into the city today but decided not to let the threats get to me -- so far so good.

Man I really hope you're wrong about today being the day.

On my way to work this morning a HAZMAT response truck followed by a firetruck passed me with lights and sirens (going the opposite direction). Still don't know what's up, but seeing as how today is 6/11, it made me a bit nervous.

Other than that everything around the Reston area seems to be quiet....for now.

AUTHORITIES on Friday foiled an attempt to stage bombing attacks in the country on Independence Day with the seizure Thursday night of 10 boxes full of explosive materials about to be shipped to Mindanao at Manila's North Harbor.

Seized from the suspect identified as Alejandro Aguirre, 53, were plastic explosives, 30,000 pieces of blasting caps, eight rolls of detonating cord, and four rolls of time fuses.



"If these were exploded, either intentionally or accidentally while the ship is underway, one cannot imagine the loss of lives and limbs as a result of its explosion," Lt. Gen. Alberto Braganza, chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines National Capital Region Command, told reporters.

Aguirre was arrested at about 3:30 p.m. on Thursday at the WG&A freight station at Pier 18 as he tried to clear security check for his baggage, which he claimed was "general merchandise," Braganza said. The explosives were consigned to a certain Sonny Ajong and were bound for Zamboanga City.

Besides that mystery, here is a piece of news for you.

I just spoke with one of our people in Hawaii for over an hour as she described to me how the Pacific Fleet has been fully outfitted for war, and everything with an engine has been heading out to sea with sealed orders including those that were just beginning their six month shore rotation.

Also, each little group of ships is headed out in many different directions. Could that be a clue or what?

If the world makes it through the Fourth of July intact, I'll rest a whole lot easier.
