Alot of dignataries are now showing up to pay respects. McCain, Guiliani, Gorby, Karzai, etc.
Cspan has live coverage. Bush expected at 7 but could be earlier? He is then going to visit with Mrs. Reagan.
Guard changes about every half hour at .28 and .58 of the hour. One is going on right now.
Are people in wheelchairs and motorized carts going through a different line? SOmeone could stroke out there in that heat waiting for 8 hours
I don't know if anyone is interested but TCM channel has old Ronald Reagan movies on. Right now they are showing a Desparate Journey and it is quite funny. I have never seen many of President Reagan's films, but the last 3 I have watched have been great.
Thanks for the great pictures on this thread.
Welcome to FR!
No wandering eyes while you have your girls with you...and when you do meet someone, make sure she is a nice Republican lady...LOL
That is an incredible picture.
What amazes me is Nancy Reagan's strength. I watched last night as the Vice President went up to the casket to stand next to Mrs. Reagan and help escort her away. Most people only have to say goodbye one time, but Mrs. Reagan's farewells have been many. I don't know how she is able to walk up to the casket each time to say goodbye knowing that she will have to do it the next day. And bless her heart, she doesn't shed a tear.
God bless Nancy Reagan.
corrected that thanks.
someone said that CNN said 10000 per hour. that makes 300000 for thirty hours possible.
I wonder how many "in state" cards were printed?
I have the live feed going on my computer, so if the crowd begins to pile up, I'll run to the tv to see what's going on. I hope that I am able to see the visits by the various leaders including our own.
I saw a clip of Sen. Frist walking the new Iraqi President (i think) through the line.
something is going on right now..configuration of people is different
"What I find amazing ... the networks actually cutting in to show President Bush & Laura pay their respects"
Yes, I was surprised to hear that too. They usually can't be bothered. Maybe Reagan's death has had more of an affect on them than we thought.
Thanks for that info. They do repeats of Larry King. Does anyone know what time?
Some fellow asked me politely to remove the major for the Reagan threads. I intend to have her off the Reagan threads until Saturday, after the President has been buried.
The graphic's presence or lack thereof has nothing to do with my respect for Reagan. He was, after all, the man who consigned Soviet Russia to history.
I'll be back to my old self by the weekend. But we shall not see the likes of Reagan again in our lifetimes, I fear.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
Did you hear what this "new president" said about America. It was stunning; how thankful Iraqis are for America's willingness to sacrifice for their freedom. It's here on a thread at FR.
If the casket were being transported back by train, literally millions would line the tracks across the country, and the libs would go into total meltdown.
George Bush SR right now
Bush 41 & Bar coming in now.
President Bush and Barbara
George HW Bush and Barbara
And James Baker & wife.
