LIVE THREAD: Pres. Bush pays respects and calls on Mrs. Reagan
Posted on 06/10/2004 2:28:07 PM PDT by alisasny
Alot of dignataries are now showing up to pay respects. McCain, Guiliani, Gorby, Karzai, etc.
Cspan has live coverage. Bush expected at 7 but could be earlier? He is then going to visit with Mrs. Reagan.
Guard changes about every half hour at .28 and .58 of the hour. One is going on right now.

Another Freeper turned me on to it, maybe on Sunday.
I look at cspan for 5 minutes, then throw up off the commentary. The real time on the CBS link, along with our live threads, are all that is needed.

"Doesn't he ever do anything on time? I thought someone said they had to be turned in before leaving office."
I heard on Fox News this morning, that there is a statute that requires a retired President to make his funeral plans within a year of his leaving office.

Yahoo has one on their site. He's signing the guest book at Blair House, I believe. Go to the news section at Yahoo, then the slide shows, then President Reagan.

No. We didn't make it. At 3:00 this morning I missed the changing of the guard and the room was pretty empty. I didn't know it was the changing of the guard. I almost woke VOC up to go hop in the car.
He did the same thing this morning.
Silly me thinking that the rotunda would be empty for more than a moment.

Right me too.
The throw-up part, that is.
The hatred of some folks for this
wholly good man just stuns me.

It looked like he asked her if she would pray with him or something.
Bush was very very quick here.....he didn't linger around to hog up the line.
Very classy.

Damn, I consider myself fortunate to have worn the same uniform as this HERO!
