He's really on a roll with this press conference, isn't he? This is the George W. Bush we know and love.
And he's doing a great press smackdown while he's doing it.

I'm taking a bit of a break from the news today, the last few have been pretty rough. Baseball for me today, and we're winning.

That's what I noticed too. And right from the start. He's in control, like days of old.

I just posted in another thread that G8 must have gone well. GWB is almost giddy with the press-persons.
He's even slapped a few who asked the typically-redundant and dumb questions.

He's giving straitforward no BS answers to the press.
French boy David Gregory, even "challenged" him and Bush smakcked him down with an answer about the Iraqi's taking over security. Said it may not be easy, but will be done.

Watching right now....I am very impressed with his spunky attitude with the press. He is in complete control of this press conference! Even those asking the typical lib press drivel are doing so with some hesitancy and a softer delivery.

Wish I could watch. This sounds like the old, "unhandled", President Bush that people have been longing for.

I adored that smackdown. Gregory looked pretty dumb by the time the President finished with him!

When asked whether he would return Saddam's personal gun to the new President of Iraq, Bush told the story of seven Iraqi merchants whose right hands were cut off by order of Saddam because the value of Iraqi money had declined.
The seven merchants were flown to the U.S. to have prostheses made for their amputated limbs.
...and Saddam's weapon is now the property of the United States military.

Loved the Smackdown of David Gregory. I am thrilled he pointed out that it is not only erroneous to claim only we are in Iraq but insulting to our allies, particularly the British.
