I like them too. I remember reading George HW's autobiography and my favorite part was a scene in which George called home one day and the youngest daughter answered the phone. She was little enough that she didn't recognize her dad, so he took it upon himself to tell her that he was from the phone company and would like her help in cleaning the lines. The daughter wanted to help. A few minutes later, in walks Barbara and the girl is holding the receiver carefully over the floor so that the dirt will come out. Barbara knew immediately what was going on and she marched over to the phone and gave her husband a piece of her mind.

I loved it!

Can we get Klintoon and Karter out there....but without a chute? Use them as concussion bombs...all of that hot air coming out, it would be worse thana MOAB blast!

They will do it only if it is over North Korea.

... FOX was awful yesterday...

Agreed. CSPAN is taping history. Fox, CNN and msnbc are 24-7 chatterboxes. They both serve a purpose.

Bush should invite Gorbachev, Chirac, Helmut Kohl and Yeltsin to jump with him .... to show the world the kind of stones american presidents have versus others.

..I swtichged over to MSNBC,a nd they were excellent..until Matthews came on

I flipped around a lot. Brokaw and Russert were awful. Jennings is an arse. The guy who impressed me was MSNBC's Lester Holt. He was very somber and did not use the occassion to take swipes at Dubya or Reagan's policies.

FNC was good but then ended their coverage too early. Niether O'Reilly or Greta devoted their entire show to Reagan. Scarborugh was on MSNBC from 11:00 pm to 1:00 am and it was tremendous.

I am surprised Matthews doesn't choke on his own pomposity.

Coverage of the jump to be on Fox News tomorrow, Sunday, June 13 at 12 noon EDT. I believe Tony Snow just said the actual jump will take place at 1pm EDT.

Darn! I won't be home to watch it. :-(

The guy who impressed me was MSNBC's Lester Holt.

Agreed, Lester Holt was excellent. But I was very annoyed later when Georgie Ann Geyer came on. A GWB hater. She made sure to let us know. I switched over.

and C-span doesn't have the clutter, the scrolls, and the bugs, that take up half the screen.......

and C-Span focuses on the event for a much longer time, as they showed the guests paying tribute to President Reagan to the very end. I only wish we knew their names. I still haven't been able to figure out who all attended in the family group. Were they members of Ronny's family or Nancy's? They could be Ronny's nephews and nieces & families.

Nice to see you again, FRiend. :-)

But I was very annoyed later when Georgie Ann Geyer came on.

You may changed the channel too soon. Chris Matthews started to talk about the elegance with which Reagan graced the Oval Office, than preceeded to rip Clinton for his cavalier attitude toward the Presidency than turned that into a rip of Bush. To which Georgie Ann kept agreeing with him and than piped in about the radical extremism of the Bush Presidency. This banter continued on without pause until Lester Holt, who you could hear some disgust in voice, said "Let me tell you about what we are seeing now", in an attempt to change the subject as Reagan's body was loaded in SAM 28000.

Lester exerted some control over the situation and you could tell he thought their rant was inappropriate without him having to say anything. I have no clue what his politics are and I guess that's the point. Lester Holt covers the news not spins it for us.
