I dissagree. The polls reflect party idealism right now. But get a sane individual behind the curtain of the polling booth and I have faith they will do the right thing.

No sane person with a measurable IQ can vote for Kerry, IMO.

The Democrats cannot compete if they depend solely on their traditional base of single welfare mothers, athiests, condom throwers, abortion enthusiasts, government-addicted minorities, gold-chained union thugs, screeching feminists, college professors, Hollywood drunks, America-hating malcontents, and all the rest of society's losers, parasites, and weirdos.

Democrats can only win if they can con enough normal, traditional, taxpaying Americans into (inexplicably) voting along with the Democrat base described above. Fortunately, the number of such people who are stupid enough to voluntarily tape "kick me" signs to their own backs has been steadily decreasing.

In 2000, the Democrats very nearly stole the Presidency. This year, however, will be an entirely different story because rather than a Justice Department (Clinton's) which will aid and abet Democrat vote fraud, we have a Justice Department (Bush's) which will BATTLE vote fraud. That's a whole lot of taxpayer funded lawyers. And the "swing" just might help produce a landslide.

That's not and never has been the Democrats' base.

It's easy to think that, but I know a lot of bright people who hate Bush more than they don't like Kerry. I can never get them to say exactly why they hate Bush -- they just do.

I think conservatives are going to have to work every moment between now and November to get the vote out.

I've been saying the same thing.

What you tell a pollster is one thing.

What you do once you're in the voting booth is entirely different.

Like during the Reagan years, when you put Kerry and Bush on a stage, side by side, I think it will show the difference dramatically.

In fact, put Kerry on a stage and let him spout his rhetoric and I think it will "scare" people into voting for Bush.

Kerry has not been forced to "answer" questions about his policy, and if he goes into a debate with the same "double speak" that he uses on the campaign he will be as big a laughing-stock as Gore with his "clown cheek make-up" and constant interupting.

I keep a SNL transcript of the skit of the Gore/Bush debates around just to remind me how much "fun" they were.

Exactly. A lot of Dems (old Harry Truman dems, who aren't rabid liberals like the rest) say they'll vote Kerry now, but won't have the stomach to actually do it.

Then how do you account for all of those Gore votes?

I hope you are right, but I think there are millions of insane people out there.

Why? This country elected Bill Clinton. Twice. Never forget that, or the implications thereof.

I hope you're right, but then, we said the same thing about X42, because we were sure that no American in his right mind would vote for a draft-dodger (among other things) for Commander in Chief.

Look what happened.

I hope you're right, but I'm afraid there are too many doofuses voting who would be more than happy to make Kerry president. I think it will be extremely close.
