I presume others are watching.
I saw Richardson being interviewed outside the library as well. What the heck is he doing there? Did any other pols show up other then Kerry and Richardson?
I understand Arnold going but he is the Gov.
Well, a large part of Hollyweird. It was wonderful to see Bo Derek and though I didn't get to see him, Tom Selleck. Another Hollywood great who is greatly missed even though he is still with us in a way, is Charlton Heston. How tragic it is that he is also afflicted with the same cruel illness as President Reagan.
Anybody hear screwball Savage last night making fun of Reagan's funeral? He said something to the effect of "I'm tired of it all. What are they gonna do next? Put a microphone up to the horse's mouth that's going to carry the coffin?"
Looks like Richardson is inside the rope too. He was interviewed outside the library.
heading to the end of the runway now
By several accounts Clinton wouldn't notice or speak to the staff (unless they were bethonged interns). His wife, whose name shall not touch these sanctified lips, would cause all to flee before her in hate and terror, like the autumn leaves driven by a materializing demon.
But conservatives hate the poor and the Democrat party is on the side of the down-trodden.
I tivo'd it on FNC...after hearing all of the complaints about the incessant talking, I'm worried it won't be worth it. Unfortunately I also set up TIVO to record this afternoon's procession on FNC. I should have known better after watching their absolutely horrific and terrible coverage of D-DAY on Sunday. They just wouldn't shut up.
Lifting off, they're on their way.
Have caught a few of the comments by Elizabeth Dole. She is such a classy lady, I really admire her!
When an active duty member of the Armed Services dies, a Casualy Assistance Officer is assigned to the family to help them through the funeral, and beyond if required.
Obviously, for so important a person as a former President, one has been assigned to Mrs. Reagan. A high-ranking one at that.
He's responsible for assisting her through the ceremonial duties that lie ahead. Generally, he'll prompt her when she should stand, what comes next in the funeral service, and what not. Of course, he'll provide all possible assistance, including emotional support, to Mrs. Reagan during the hard days ahead. Barring something unforeseen, he will be with her through the whole thing.
Plane takes off at 1239 est.
Air Force One just took off
Off the plane goes....
Fly safely!
We've lost a great, great man in Ronald Reagan...
Omigosh - he didn't bring his own cameraman, did he? He looks a lot more genuinely respectful than Kerry did.
I've been able to see AF1 Fly from here twice, what a beautiful site to see her fly over.
Some people on the thread have posted that President Bush is allowing the plane to be designated as Air Force One for this flight, which is irregular (normally Air Force One is only used for whatever the sitting President is flying on at the time). Otherwise, its callsign would be SAM 28000--"SAM" for "Special Air Mission," and 28000 is the aircraft's USAF tail number.
