that's too bad. I hooked up with another freeper via phone. I called her and let her know about the line, then she called me today to tell me to get there because the lines were short (at that point, around 3 p.m. I drove by Collins Road today at 7 pm and it was easy. I think a Freeper event later in the summer at the library would be great!
I think a FReeper pilgrimage to the Library on a weekend would be a very good idea and a very well attended event. Perhaps a picnic, followed by a caravan to the graveside.
I think the actual grave site is right there at the library, from what I understand.
Yeah. From what I hear, it's fairly close to the piece of the Berlin Wall. I was just thinking about meeting at a local off-site park.
The Guard is changed every half hour. It's a very moving scene as they changeover. Hope you get to see it.
I got to see the last part of the change, it was incredible. They just sort of appeared there in front of the old guards and then the old guard stepped back and silently melted away. I don't think I have ever seen anything so respectful.
I'd like to learn Pres Reagan's thoughts on the Waco massacre in 93. Something in my gut tells me he would have been furious with law enforcement killing American women and children under any circumstance.
It might be just me, but I'm thinking today's law enforcement is not the same group Pres Reagan knew. They're not the same kind of fellas I grew up knowing. I say "fellas" because there were no women then...
My remembrance of law enforcement in my youth reflects upon men who were human beings who understood the common flaws of human beings. Probably somewhat similar to Pres. Reagans experience in youth and beyond...good people.
But today's law enforcement has little resemblance to those men of a past time. Since today's law enforcement takes on a gestapo like posture wearing combat fatigues while cruising our streets with dogs. Nothing close to what I knew or Pres. Reagan knew.
Of course, today's firemen, like firemen of our past remain brave and courageous beyond measure.
Still, if this is all true regarding these last 90 miniutes, then the last 90 minutes should have been reserved for surviving veterans of America's wars.
Much more fitting in my opinion.
I dont know were you live but haveing worked in some nasty parts of l.a. including on the same block 10 minutes before the thing went down in flames during the riots Im happy as hell that cops go out and deal with this crap Give them bigger guns and bigger dogs, flak jackets the cops changed because the bad guys changed
bttt
Yes indeed it is
That's right, they were there johnny on the spot to save Reginald Denney. I forgot about that.
Nice touch indeed. Reagan "loved the miltary," and law enforcement is the domestic parallel. No doubt, his lasting will is that the country embrace and further individual freedom. Prayers for the Reagan family, and God bless the United States of America.
I think there the graveside is on the library site..in fact I am sure it is. There is also a nice little cafe at the library.
