Judging from the Drudge Report website over the last two days, I think we all know what tonight's topic will be. This week will be difficult and emotional, but also bittersweet: displaying our country's proud traditions, and our beliefs in a higher purpose and honor. Those things, to me, are Reagan's best legacy anyway. God rest and keep him. Comment on what you hear here.
Sunday Night ping
I wonder if he'll have anything to say about the disgusting commentary going on in places like DU...
Drudge has a wonderful page tonight.
Isn't it amazing? I've had less-than-kind things to say about certain folks in my time, but DUmmies are publicly saying they're "pissing on his tombstone."
A moment in time occurs. The Earth runs on a continuum and you can use your brain to say whatever you wish about whatever you see. ..And they note the passing of a human being with that. It's bizarre.
Good to know all the liberals in government were elected to protect my liberties.
I look forward to hearing what he has to say tonight. Maybe we'll be given a treat and hear from Peggy Noonan or someone equally gifted in matters like these.
I read the Patti Davis and George Will column linked at the Drudge site. I would highly recommend them.
Thanks, I'll do that now.
Brian Whitman says there will be a closed casket service, for those who were wondering.
Wow, Patti's is awesome.
The country mourns. I don't like the feeling.. it reminds me of other bad times. Life sure can be hard.
I'm looking forward to hearing Drudge's show tonight, & maybe hearing from some of you. :)
Maybe this is not the right time (or maybe it is), but speaking of Drudge, I am concerned about his phone call screener. Here's my story:
WABC's Lynne Samuels (worked for WABC for around 25 years, I think that's what I read) was a liberal talk show host AND was also a phone call screener for conservative Matt Drudge. I think she still is, because I recently heard Matt say Lynne (unless there is now another Lynne working for Drudge).
ANYWAY, when I heard that Joe Lieberman was excommunicated, I called Matt Drudge's radio show the Sunday night in November of 2000, JUST BEFORE THE TUESDAY ELECTION! Liberal Lynne Samuels WOULD NOT PUT ME THROUGH TO DRUDGE! Of course, Matt Drudge knows that Lynne Samuels is a liberal, & Drudge & Samuels seem to really like each other.
However, I wonder if Drudge realizes that she might do something like not let calls through that might change the opinion of some voters, if they knew the facts. I just want to bring this up now (for what it's worth), because there is another important election coming up.
I wonder if Drudge just might trust Lynne a bit more than he should.
Was watching Meltdown on FX. It is about terrorists taking over a nuclear power plant.
It was going ok, then, dropped. Terrorists turn out to be Benedict Arnold turncoat Americans acting like Islamofanatics. I guess they didn't want to ooooofffffend....
"The country mourns. I don't like the feeling.. it reminds me of other bad times. Life sure can be hard."
One thing that has struck me strongly, Reagans legacy is giving the country strength once again when it needs it most, it lives and is celebrated again. All these tributes are reminding Americans how great we really are. No one lives forever, and Reagan is once again even in death giving us the gift of his optimism. I am overwhelmed with great pride that even some of Reagans greatest detractors cannot fight history, they too recognize now Reagan was right. I am very proud I was able to vote for him when I turned eighteen. There will be mourning, but the Reagan optimism is forever written in Americas heart and that is what will remain after the mourning and sadness are long gone.
FYI, for those who might want to keep their radio sites together in Windows Media Player, you can access all the Liquid Compass stations as URL's in the form:
http: //ccdig.liquidviewer.com/XXX
For example, in WMP Open the URL-
http://ccdig.liquidviewer.com/kfi
then you can Add it to your current Media Library if desired.
Karel is on KGO? eww
Hey thanks! That's cool; I'll play with it later.
I'm thinking about going to the Reagan Library tomorrow but I'm not sure about taking little kids to such an outing.
Drudge says Rather rises to the occasion usually, at times like these. But by contrast, didn't I hear Brokaw went on the air Saturday night drunk?
I heard that as well.
