Thanks for your patience with the younger Boomers, and the X and Y generations, Ronnie. We owe you for that as much as anything else. Where would we be now if most Vietnam vets had repayed their tragic betrayal with bitter condemnation? Instead we find a cadre of strength and honor that is just waiting for us to seek guidance.

He cancelled because there would be nearly ZERO media coverage for him...I was hoping he'd make some of his dumb, stupid remarks when he thinks he's out of the media's limelight.

The sadness we all feel at Ronald Reagan's loss is an important moment for our political future. This D-day anniversary is a moment for all Americans to think back on presidents past -- and future. In his death, Ronald Wilson Reagan continues to give to his country: in this case, he's reminding us all what a dramatic choice we have in the upcoming November election.

As usual....President Reagan's 'timing' was perfect.

Thanks be to God from whom all blessings flow.

john stinkbait kerry is only attempting to capitalize on President Reagan's death. He figures that Bush is out of the country for the D-Day celebration, so he [kerry] gets "first dibs" on the publicity surrounding Reagan's death, and will try to "associate" himself somehow with the greatness of Reagan.

eff'n is pond scum. In some ways, he makes clinton seem respectible (ok, maybe I went too far on that analogy).

So lord eff'n of Ketchup is taking a whole week off to try and sink his parasitic tentacles into the reputation of President Reagan. More than likely, he'll be at any and all memorials, network interviews, and the funeral to wring all the publicity he can get out of this sad event.

Meanwhile, kerry shares none of the morals, principles, or beliefs held by Reagan, and doesn't deserve to be in the same room...no, make that state, or maybe even country as Reagan.

As much as I'd like to be nice to Flipper, the best thing that I could say is that I had a watch that broke. It was right..twice in a day.

Whenever I see John Kerry on tv commenting about Reagan's memory I want to throw up. I wonder if he was saying those nice things 20 years ago when Reagan was president.

Contrast that with what the peanut farmer has had to say.

Did Carter finally come out and say something? He's been conspicuous by his absence; I've seen remarks from Presidents Ford, GHW Bush, Clinton and GW Bush, but nothing from Carter, and I'd been wondering about it. What did he say?

He had no choice. He's been told that his foreign policy speeches haven't exactly been lighting a brushfire across America. There's no movement in his direction, only the daily blips. Within three months the political effects of the economic boom will be felt. Kerry needs to stay active but out of sight while Reagan is buried.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

The 18-21 crowd is among, if not the lowest turnout group in terms of age demographics. I think it is a tremendous waste of time.

Regarding Comrade Kerry, we recall clearly his aiding the enemy in time of war, which enabled the victory of Communist North Vietnam.

We further note his smarmy comment that "I thought we knew better than to think we could fight Communism everywhere."

We know that Reagan aided the victorious anti-Communist Contras, while Kerry travelled to Nicaragua with Harkin to shake hands with Daniel Ortega.

Now we are presented the choice between moral clarity versus willing collaboration with enemies of America.

No facile utterance of expedience can dim the distinction.

Here's to winning one in November--for the Gipper.

Get your barf bags out . .

""Yesterday, we lost one of our great optimists," Kerry told graduating seniors at Bedford High School. "President Reagan's belief in America was infectious. And because of the way he led, he taught us that there was a difference between strong beliefs and bitter partisanship."

New battlecry for Republicans for November. I cannot believe the Freeper names I have never seen praising Kerry and Clinton for their comments when we all know the duo don't mean them -- all being regular Freepers!

Bitter partisanship? LOL

I thought John Kerry had called off all partisan campaign efforts in recognition of and in tribute to, the death of President Reagan. Looks like we have another flip-flop, front and center.

Well, Kerry needed a good rest anyway.

What's really strange, are all the accolades Reagan is receiving from the liberal establishment. Could make one wonder, why those on the left have chosen this opportunity to praise Reagan. Aside from the unique personality of Ronald Reagan, George W.Bush has followed the Reagan gameplan in advancing a strong military defense, across the board income tax cuts and support for pro-life issues. On the spending side, the differences between Reagan and Bush43 aren't enough for liberals to be treating our current President like they have been for the last 3-1/2 years. In fact, his social spending should have thrilled and delighted those on the leftwing.

This boils down to one basic concept. The liberal establishment has been out of power for the last 10 years and they will do whatever it takes to defeat GWBush this November. Including fabricating and distorting the facts and outright lies. I know it and they know it too. So be it.

Bravo

You are a freepers freeper, and your post serves to illustrate the difference between the francophile Kerrys preposterous attempt to lie his way to the Presidency, and the steady principled leadership of George W. Bush.

Thanks.

This is a real letter sent to me that I want fellow Free Republicers to read:

Regardless of your party, this letter deserves a read.

Sent: Monday, April 26, 2004 10:23 AM
Subject: True Letter to Kerry

Dear Senator Kerry:

Since it has become clear that you will probably be the Democratic nominee
for President, I have spent a great deal of time researching your war record
and your record as a professional politician. The reason is simple, you
aspire to be the Commander in Chief who would lead my sons and their fellow
soldiers in time of war. I simply wanted to know if you possess the
necessary qualifications to be trusted in that respect.

You see, I belong to a family of proud U.S. veterans. I was a Captain in the
Army Reserve, my father was a decorated Lieutenant in World War II; and I
have four sons who have either served, or are currently serving in the
military. The oldest is an Army Lieutenant still on active duty in
Afghanistan after already being honored for his service in Iraq. The
youngest is an E-4 with the military police. His National Guard unit just
finished their second tour of active duty, including six months in
Guantanamo Bay. My two other sons have served in the national guard and the navy.

In looking at your record I found myself comparing it not only to that of my
father and my sons, but to the people with whom they served. My father
served with the 87th Chemical Mortar Battalion in Europe. They landed on
Utah Beach and fought for 317 straight days including the Cherbourg
Peninsula, Aachen, the Hurtgen Forest, and the Battle of the Bulge. You
earned a Silver Star in Vietnam for chasing down and finishing off a wounded
and retreating enemy soldier. My father won a Bronze Star for single
-handedly charging and knocking out a German machine gun nest that had his
men pinned down. You received three purple hearts for what appears to be
three minor scratches. In fact you only missed a combined total of two days
of duty for these wounds. The men of my father's unit, the 87th, had to be
admonished by their commanding officer because: "It has been brought to our
attention that some men are covering up wounds and refusing medical
attention for fear of being evacuated and permanently separated from this
organization..." It was also a common problem for seriously wounded soldiers
to go AWOL from hospitals in order to rejoin their units. You used your
three purple hearts to leave Vietnam early.

My oldest boy came home from Iraq with numerous commendations and then
proceeded to volunteer to go to Afghanistan and from there back to Iraq
again. My sons and father have never had anything but the highest regard and
respect for their fellow soldiers. Yet, you came home to publicly charge
your fellow fighting men with being war criminals and to urge their defeat
by the enemy. You even wrote a book that had a cover which mocked the
heroism of the U.S. Marines who raised the flag on Iwo Jima. Our current
crop of soldiers has a philosophy that no one gets left behind; and they
have practiced that from Somalia to the battlefields of the Middle East. Yet
as chairman of a Senate committee looking into allegations that many of your
fellow servicemen had been left behind as prisoners in Vietnam, you chose to
defend the brutal Vietnamese regime. You even went so far as to refer to the
families of the POWs and MIAs as Professional malcontents, conspiracy
mongers, con artists, and dime-store Rambos.

As a Senator you voted against the 1991 Gulf War, and have repeatedly voted
against funds to supply our troops with the best equipment, and against
money to improve our intelligence capability. I find this particularly
ironic since as a Presidential candidate you are highly critical of our
pre-war intelligence in Iraq. However, you did vote to authorize the
President to go to war, but have since proceeded to do everything you can to
undermine the efforts of our government and our troops to win. Is this what
our fighting men and women can expect of you if you are their Commander-in-
Chief? Will you gladly send them to war, only to then aid the enemy by
undermining the morale of our troops and cutting off the weapons they need
to win?

Our country is at war Senator, and as has been the case in every war since
the American Revolution, a member of my family is serving their country
during the war. Now you want me to trust you to lead my sons in this fight.

Sorry Senator, but when I compare your record to those who have fought and
died for this nation, and are currently fighting and dying, the answer is NO!!!!!!!!

Sincerely,

Michael Connelly February 14, 2004 Dallas, Texas
