Rat Patrol Radio will broadcast their special D-Day Radio program starting tomorrow (June 6th) morning at 2:30 a.m. Here's an excerpt from their website:

"Rat Patrol Radio is proud to present our fourth annual D Day Special Broadcast, consisting of the complete broadcast day of June 6, 1944, airing at the same time of day originally recorded. Whatever time of day you tune in, you will hear what was on the radio at that same time of day 60 years ago. This special broadcast begins at 2:30AM June 6, 2004 (GMT -5.)"

I have the full CBS News D-Day coverage in mp3 format; I'm assuming that this is the same material that Rat Patrol Radio will be airing. If so, don't miss it - this was perhaps radio's finest hour. Bob Trout's narration is riveting, and the live broadcasts carried between 0330 and 0900 give at look at history when history was still current events.

The official announcement from SHAEF is read at 0332, and a live report within the hour from Wright Bryant, who accompanied troopers of the 101st on a C-47 over Normandy, will bring tears to your eyes.

I talked with the guy who runs Ratpatrol radio and he confirmed to me that he is using the audio files from earthstation1.com. That being the case, you can actually buy the recordings here.

I'm not connected to this company, except as a customer. I bought the 17 hour disk of CBS broadcasts during the Battle of Britain. It is fascinating to hear.

Meanwhile, I'm worried that the live365 ratpatrol server capacity will max out based on this new publicity. I'm just going to start it now and leave it running. LOL

Rat Patrol radio is providing me great help as I endeavor to finish my novel on the era (one family in occupied Normandy). It is easy to forget when and where one is in history while listening to this stuff, and it has been an enormous help since I was turned on to it by one Freeper (whose name I have sadly forgotten).
