Our tears at his passing will be for ourselves....that we no longer have him w/us. Our prayers for his family, friends, and the nation should be ones of thanks to Almighty God that he was here for awhile. I have no doubt that he will be w/God and at peace when he leaves us.
This post finally brought a gurgle to my throat, to join the tears on my cheeks.
I am reminded by a quote, from Patton,
"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived."
President Reagan did not fall in battle, but, rather, after an accomplished life, and given his enormous achievements it is even more foolish that we mourn his passing. Your post brought home to me the selfish reasons why that is so.
