This post finally brought a gurgle to my throat, to join the tears on my cheeks.
I am reminded by a quote, from Patton,
"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died.
Rather we should thank God that such men lived."
President Reagan did not fall in battle, but, rather, after an accomplished life, and given his enormous achievements it is even more foolish that we mourn his passing. Your post brought home to me the selfish reasons why that is so.
.
Oh, that is so true.
RR lived a long life, and accomplished great good for the world. We should not mourn too long his passing, but through our tears remember what he gave to the world, and be grateful.
