Hollywood sources tell LA Weekly columnist Nikki Finke that former President Ronald Reagan's medical condition has suddenly worsened. "He really took a downslide today," the insider told Finke Friday evening. "Doctors are at the house. Things aren't good." At the start of the day, several news organizations chased down a rumor that the ex-president had died, but it wasn't true... Family members gathered at the Reagan's Bel Air home late Friday... Developing...

So far either this story is just a Drudge rumor, or the reporters at this conference are morons. I would have dropped my preset question and asked about President Reagan's condition.

Exactly the same here.
My blood pressure is on the low side of "normal" and thinking of that horrible scenario gives me one of those "pointy" behind-the-eye headaches.
I bet you know what I mean....;)

The man is, pure and simple, pathological.
Of all the raving Dems I've heard, he's the worst at expecting me to swallow his bald-faced lies, wholesale.

I listen to him and I swear I've fallen into either a brainwashing cult or an alternate universe.

OMG, this is the first I have heard about this. This is so sad. Like everyone else, I truly love this wonderful man. President Reagan is a bright shining light to all of us. Oh how my heart aches. My prayers and thoughts go out to the President's family.

God Bless you Mr President! Oh how we love you!
Damn, I am so sad! The tears won't stop.

I disagree. This should be politicized.

Reagan was viciously attacked by the liberal establishment while president, he was attacked afterwards, he is attacked now. The liberal revisionists will be frothing at the mouth in their efforts to discredit him if he dies.

If I can slam that in their faces by rallying the old Reagan coalition, then that'd be a far better legacy for the best President of my lifetime than to pretend that the left isn't going to rip him with dripping fangs in every "retrospective on his life" that gets run should he shortly pass away.

It's been over a couple of minutes. Nobody asked about President Reagan. The questions started with the obligatory "with thousands of protesters in the streets" " are you here to build bridges?" "blah blah blah....". Was so bored by the questions I didn't pay much attention to the answers. Somebody asked about the Abu Grabass prison scandal and Berlisconi handled it well. President Bush had some great points about the War On Terror and so did Berlisconi. The press forgot to mention Halliburton.

"Abu Grabass"

ROFL!

Thanks.
After all of this, I can take a nap with a smile on my face.....;)

[at least they didn't ask him if he's "stopped beating his wife yet"]

At least we have each other to ease our own grief.
I bet he'd be happy about that....:)

President Reagan is my hero.

I have long had an item in my list of life goals that when he passes, I will go to the funeral and pay my respects in person. I plan to do that without a doubt.

Does anyone know what the arrangements will likely be if this sad news were to come to pass?

Dear Ron and Nancy,
Your lives have been an example to millions, you have put your words into actions, and the world is much better for having known you.

I just hope that Ron is able to comprehend what a success his life has been and what a role model he has been for others who aspire to change the world against all odds. I hope that Nancy will receive all the respect she deserves for her tireless service to the Gipper.

There is nothing wrong with winning one more for the Gipper. I am just saying we can do this in a dignified manner which will contrast with the opportunism of the Democat Party. We can set ourselves appart by being true to our conscience.

President Bush made some VERY
STRONG statements about the War
on Terror, Iraq, Iraq sovereignty
& the American sacrifice to free
Europe in WWII. He took every
advantage of being on TV in Europe
especially, I think. He repeatedly
drew contrasts between freedom &
totalitarianism. Noted Europeans
had rights to protest against him,
unlike in Iraq under Saddam, and
tied it all into fighting Nazism
& Communism for years in Europe.

Brava! Mr. President.

Yes he would my friend wouldn't he? I just told my husband that I love President Reagan like a grandfather. My husband feels the same. Losing our Ronnie will be like losing one of our own relatives.

As we know, the only reason the RATS have 'held' their fire vis a vis Reagan is Alzheimer's. The first week they heard he suffered from the disease, they came out with a few sick jokes, but the reaction was very bad. Since then, they've snickered in private, but haven't dared open their mouths. When he dies, they will have trouble saying one kind thing about him. And God forbid anyone mention the defeat of communism and the end of the Cold War. Revisionist history here we come.

On CNN now. A show about President Bush 41 in WWII. I think they aired it before but it is good. They take him back to the island where he was shot down.

please, I know you are well meaning, but do not politicize this.

Huh? He was the President of the United States. How much more political can you ever be?
