when Fox broke in with their GONG and had real honest to goodness "breaking news".

Ha! I know, that GONG always strikes a little fear...but it was losing its punch there for a while.

Rush made a good point re: not having a "new" CIA director chosen before election. Not needing another "fight" in congress. the LT will take over.

WOnder how many personal threats to their famililes men/women like Tenent get? HOw much it affects them - everyone has their limits.

And he more than most knows the treachery possible inside as well as outside with terrorists

Forget Rudy or Zell or other such pipe dreams. This is such a high-pressure job the appointment will go to a relatively younger person in good health and with highly-specialized training.

Being CIA Director with everything that's going on worldwide would kill most of us or send us to the funny farm.

that WMD issue may turn in the next couple months - this resignation is not over the WMD intel. Chalabi is a better guess.

The point wasn't to quibble over retaining/consulting, etc.

You said the news was that President Bush requires the services of a lawyer in the matter.

You may not wish to defend your statement and refer to being confronted about it as "quibbling", but it is not and false statements are confronted here and will continue to be corrected.

"Why not? Let him do a good job for 2 years, WITH full access to all that "raw intel". Old Horse Face will then be sweating bullets about what Rudy has on her and the Slick and it will make her 10 year old FBI file stuff look pretty anemic. Life is good."

Best idea yet. Go Rudy!

My mistake.. I meant to say "Senator John Heinz". Tenet was once an administrative assistant for Senator John Heinz who was Terrayza's husband before kerry.

The election would be this year. McCain would make sure that a Republican won the seat. No doubt in my mind. It would be a slam dunk.

>>>The late Senator Warner was married to Terraayza and she still considers him her "real husband" as she says.<<<

She was married at one time to ??? Heinz who I believe was a Senator. Thats why she refers to herself as Tereza Heinz Kerry.

Don't know about Warner? If your refering to Senator Warner, he was with Tony Snow at the WWII Memorial dedication and very much not dead.

Loyalties can change in a flash. If someone waves a 5 million dollar book deal in front of him, he could turn on a dime. Bush was obviously blindsided by this guy today - so why are we expected to instantly believe he will be loyal?

Protected? LOL

If I switched to tear-sodden alarmism about the end of the Bush Administration--alarmism which I steadfastly defended no matter how illogically or haphazardly my defense was constructed--I'd be bounced out of here on my ass...and rightfully so. Read JimRob's mission statement on FreeRepublic and this election.

If you're really this nervous, for God's sake man, see a specialist. If you're just a poseur, well, consider yourself 'unprotected.'

Tenet stands in the latter category, but Stand He Did.

BRAVO!
