OK, I hope you're right. Count me as skeptical, however, because I simply do not trust anyone who held a high position in any Democratic administration after Truman.

Please note you will not be going about planting false assertions and expect not to be confronted about it.

My view is that your assertion is false. You can pretend otherwise all you want but it's of no great consequence to me.

That is intolerable behavior.

Yes, I agree and you should cut it out.

If your objective here is for me to say that you were right and I am wrong than you might as well give that one up. Or, if you want to belabor the point for whatever inexplicable reason, then feel free to provide something more than a statement about how awesomely knowledgable you are.

My advice is that you take my disinterest in the topic and run with that.

Hey, did this have anything to do with Bush seeing a lawyer yesterday?

Bush didn't "see a lawyer yesterday". He hired one last week, but it was just reported yesterday. Much ado about nothing.

true, 95% of americans don't know who Tenet is. But when Dan Rather et al gets on the news tonight and talks about "intelligence failures within the Bush administration led to the resignation of the CIA director this morning".

That's where the real effect comes from.

Makes you wonder why Bush talked him out of resigning before we went to war with Iraq.

Why did he hire a lawyer when he has Gonzales?

And whatever the case, I have to go in 10 minutes so if there's anything more to say about this then preferably it'll be quick.

I think they know of massive coming attacks they can't stop, or some horrible revelation about the war or something will come out. Something's up.

You two are the most paranoid, pessimistic people on this forum.

Must be a bitch always looking for the s*it in a parade of ponies.

I have no strong reservations about Tenet. He was a Clinto appointee, true, but from all I've read about the guy he turned out not to be a Clinton player, and there was talk about him getting dumped if AlGore had won the presidency. Seven years as CIA Director is a lifetime, especially so in these times. I believe he served faithfully, although not brilliantly.

I decided to scope out CNN and was in time to hear that the Kerry campaign will have a statement shortly.

This should be RICH.

Ah, Kerry is set to make a public appearance shortly but will not mention Tenet then. He will issue a written statement.

Stand by.

"Iraq is a quagmire."

I was skimming through Sammon's book "Misunderestimated" the other day, and he had extensive excerpts from press conferences during the early days of the war. The press was suggesting the war was a quagmire IN THE FIRST WEEK! And they obsessively asked Bush whether he watched the war on TV, and seemed absolutely flabbergasted that he got his information on the war from military and intelligence sources. lol
