Dead Briton dragged through streets after Saudi attack: reports

Sat May 29, 7:41 PM ET

LONDON (AFP) - Britain's newspapers said that the body of a British national feared killed in attacks by alleged Al-Qaeda-linked gunmen in eastern Saudi Arabia was dragged for over a mile (1.6 kilometres) behind a car.

According to the Mail on Sunday and The Observer, a British oil company executive was definitely among the victims of the attack at a compound in the Saudi oil city of Al-Khobar on Saturday.

Security forces found his body a mile away from the residential area where he was killed in front of his work colleagues, the newspaper said.

The assailants, suspected Islamic militants, led attacks against two oil facilities in Al-Khobar, then took an unknown number of civilians hostage at a nearby housing complex.

At least 11 people were reported killed so far in the violence, but numbers were expected to rise as Saudi security forces besieged the assailants, who were holed up in a building with the hostages.

One American was confirmed dead among at least four Westerners reported killed.

Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz said about 10 Saudis and foreigners were killed. He put at "four or five" the number of attackers "who have taken refuge in the compound where they are besieged."

The suspected Islamist extremists later released eight of their captives, who reported that more than 50 people were still being held.

Shortly afterwards gunfire could be heard from the hostage drama scene.

Genesis was the age of patriarchs. That was even before the Jews. People of the book may all believe in the God of Abraham but there are still lots of differences between us.

True, it seems to me that Jews celebrate life, self defense, and the protection of women and children. Moslems celebrate death, murder, and the suicides of women and children.

Of course, this opinion is only based on reality. In the fantasy world known as left wing media spin the murder of Buddhists in Thailand by Islamocrats is the result of Israel's treatment of Palestinians in Gaza....

"Religion, in general, has been one of history's greatest killers"

That old canard is incorrect.

Even if you're counting the mass murders by pagans who love lots of icons (who are followed by most who claim to be Atheists), pushers of Atheism (which is enforced by Communist leaders) have been the murderers of far more people.

Stalin was an Atheist, and he was only one of many.

"Hate to blow your fantasy, but Christianity has oceans full of blood on it's hands as well."

Actually, true followers of Christ do not... You must be "one of them devil worshipers"...

Predictable. They are setting themselves up for their demise of their movement.

I dream of a Napalm strike on one of those crowds celebrating American deaths.

Too bad were not serious about winning (yet).

"...Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz..."

Wasn't he the Saudi who flew aboard a shuttle flight in 1985? The name is familiar, but I've seen different spellings of his name.

The Brits should lay waste to that town until the ones resposible have been laid to waste. Worthless POS animals.

You understand. Thank you for the articulate post. The world of tomorrow will be defined by what happens post-Islamicism and post Globalization. Islam is a mind-control religion of violent world domination. This is no political terrorist war, it is a religious war of pure terror, and to survive the West must defeat the Islamicist religious base, and the armed terrorists themselves must all die (no surrender, no peace). Our economic strength must be used to crush these evil sons of dogs too, and gain the support of the populace. The mullahs themselves will all have to be defeated, from the small time thugs like Al Sadyr in Falujah/Najaf, to the top mullah idiots who promulgated the Azzam Fatwah, the death sentence to the West and our way of life. We are now faced with the poor brainwashed malcontent products of Islam and Poverty who have nothing better to do with their time than murder in the name of Allah, wraiths driven by a thousand forms of fear. Islam is evil personified in Islamists. We will just have to kill them to survive.

Maybe we should have just invaded Saudia Arabia first.
We would have had a better platform to go after Saddam from.
Looks like we will end up there anyway.
I suspect it is going to get a lot worse there before it gets better and they are going to need our help. Maybe we should start the draft again and really get serious with that part of the world.

Re #97

I figured that, eventually, this "war" should come to Saudi to eliminate the root cause. Afghanistan and Iraq are opening acts. It won't end until the regimes in Iran and N. Korea are destroyed and terror support base of Saudi Arabia, which are extensive, are crushed.
