Filmmaker Moore Says He Has Berg Footage
Associated Press
NEW YORK - Filmmaker Michael Moore, whose incendiary new documentary lambastes President Bush's handling of the war, said Thursday that he has footage unused in the film of Nicholas Berg, the American civilian later beheaded in Iraq.
The footage, of an interview with Berg, "is approximately 20 minutes long. We are not releasing it to the media," Moore said in a statement. "It is not in the film. We are dealing privately with the family."
Neither Moore nor his representatives would describe the nature or contents of the interview with Berg, who held staunch pro-war views.
No one answered the phone Thursday at the home of Berg's parents in West Chester, Pa.
"Fahrenheit 9/11," which recently won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival, accuses the Bush camp of stealing the 2000 election, overlooking terrorism warnings before Sept. 11, 2001, and fanning fears of more attacks to secure American support for the Iraq war.
Moore's assault on U.S. policy got him into trouble with Disney, which refused to let subsidiary Miramax release "Fahrenheit 9/11." He is still trying to work out a deal for U.S. distribution.
This is just high treason, which merits the death penalty, last I checked...so if we do manage to find enough electricty to fry his McFat a**, we can help show his French loyalty by sending tainted bacon over to Iraqi children!
That is the only logical explanation that I can come up with.
Holy crap.
I wonder if Berg was working for Moore over there - remember when Moore claimed to have film or inside info on Abu Gharib (sp)?
Could be Mr. Moore is got a little "Out, out damn spot" moment coming his way.
Either way, Mr. Moore will be handing over his info to authorities, either voluntarily or by law.
No big deal.
Fatso is untouchable and he knows it.
The differences between Moore and the filth monger Larry Flint dwindles with every utterance out of the fat pig's drooling pie hole.
Why would moore have interviewed berg? Or was berg working for him?
Great minds and all that!
I wondered about that... if it were negative against Bush I would have thought he'd release it immediately. But if it were positive and supporting Bush, why would the owner of the tape have given it to Moore? It's all very odd.
Damn good points. I was thinking in the same direction but you clarified. This SOB now thinks he is above the law.
Who does he think he is -- Jesse Jackson?
I guess I'm reading this differently from the others. Remember, Moore had camera crews in Iraq interviewing people about the war. The way I read this article, Nick Berg was one of the people interviewed by Moore's people, long before he was murdered.
Not the murder.
BTW, I bet Moore & Berg's dad are lovers.
i don't know why you're all stumped on this. Moore filmed an interview with Berg, who was an American in Iraq. Berg was not sufficiently anti-American policy, so it was not used in teh film. Moore and teh Berg family do not want America to see the footage because it would now be viewed as a final pro-Bush testament from a murdered American. Moore created the footage, he did not get it from terrorists. This is a cover up and Moore is a left wing scum bag.
My thoughts exactly...we knew there was something about the Berg ordeal that just didn't pass the smell test.
The media's still running that lie? They are this asshat's willing tools.
You're right, but it is still evidence, from when Berg was "in theatre". Moore has to turn it over.
The most plausible answer would be that the film had to come directly from the person taking the footage which would have to be a "fellow sympathizer." Knowing that Moore is on the same page with the terrorists, who better to send it to then a film producer in the US who they know they can trust. OR, the entire, unedited footage was given to the Berg family by the FBI and they have chosen to give maybe even sell it to Moore.
I agree, I agree, I agree. And I especially agree with your last statement.
