BRITS BASH ROYAL PAIN

May 27, 2004 -- Britain's top black politician condemned Princess Michael of Kent yesterday for her bigoted outburst at a Manhattan eatery, labeling her a "walking disaster with foot-in-mouth disease" — and urged Americans not to believe she speaks for all of the United Kingdom. "This is bigotry — it is racism. It is saying, 'Go back to where you came from when we ruled the world,' " Lord John Taylor of Warwick told The Post.

"I want to stress to the American people that the princess's bigoted remarks are not typical of the British people. We in Britain love Americans, irrespective of their racial or cultural origin."

Taylor, 51, Britain's first black lord and author of "No Blacks, No Irish, No Dogs," added that the House of Lords, which includes dukes, duchesses, earls, viscounts, bishops and barons, may issue a formal statement of condemnation.

"What she said has connotations to when black people were slaves. She has let Britain down badly and I'm ashamed of her remarks. It's insulting and embarrassing," he said.

Axshully, the UK would be a constitutional monarchy, not an autocracy like Brunei or Saudi A

I lived in London for around 20 years after going to University there, then moved up to Derbyshire, near where I originally came from, about a year and a half ago.

Did you enjoy living in Brighton? I liked to visit there when I lived down London way!

What if someone told me to go back to the colonies or hell or wherever? I could care less and I would just ignore that person. Much worse has been said to me and it didn't even bother me.

Yes, maybe she meant something benign. Like "I want you to be happy, and everybody knows you people were happy back in the Colonial days, when the rules would have prevented this situation from ever developing." /sarcasm

Cromwell, while a brilliant military strategist, was, as you stated, not exactly a paragon of republican leadership. The Irish-American community particularly hold him in ill regardto this day.

Nevertheless, I still think that the Brits should send the House of Hanover into exile. Of course, my opinion doesn't count for sh-t as I am not a subject of their rule anyway. Remember that from an American perspective, all royalty are essentially millionaires living off the public dole. :-)
