Is anyone getting the impression that the Dems/liberals are declaring a civil war? They are a divided segement of this government and their words and actions are unmistakably dangerous. They are moving forward as though they have their own government.

What was that last interaction? I didn't catch it. Did TC just say "I like the guy, but..." in reference to President Bush?

Just posted this:

U.S. Unveils New U.N. Resolution on Iraq

And the French say "A French diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity, called the mood "constructive," but said the Americans would not be given "a blank check" in Iraq. "

And from the Germans:

But Germany Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder said the new Iraqi government "must be able to make decisions over security issues or else it won't be truly sovereign."

I read a story the other day (was it here on FR?) about the permanent White House staff (cooks, drivers, housekeepers, secret service, etc) and their thoughts about the various Presidents and First Ladies they have worked for. Incredible insights from these folks.

All said Bush 41 and Barbara Bush were very nice and polite, though they did not see a lot of them. They said they never heard a cross word from either of them.

All said Pres. Clinton had a bad temper, and would occassionally fly off the handle. All said Mrs Clinton was even worse, in fact an absolute witch! Would publically embarrass them if she thought they were hanging around too long (such as when they served drinks or food). None could ever remember either saying thank you or being the least bit polite. Never asked how they were doing or about their families or kids, and had no idea of their names, etc.

Finally, they all loved the current President and Mrs Laura Bush. President Bush is famous for never forgetting a name, and they said he often asks about their kids and families...by name! He often stops by the kitchen or elsewhere and says hello to them, and asks how things are going. Mrs Laura Bush they are absolutely crazy about. They said she sometimes goes down to the kitchen and will sit in the back and eat with the help if she has nothing else going on, talking to them about how life is treating them and always thanks them for whatever they are doing. Never demands, always asks...even though everyone knows they will do what she wants. If I can find the report I will post it.

From those I know that have met the President, and from watching him tonight, I can believe the report without reservation. I do believe watching how someone treats their lower-pay help often tells you all you need to know about their charactor.

"Tom Clancy is dead broke and needs his book to sell in order to pay LOTS of money to his ex-wife."

Is it just me, or did Tom Clancy look like he was drunk?

"Win in Iraq or they'll be back!"

THAT'S BRILLIANT!! What a GREAT bumper sticker! You should make some big bucks on that one.

Causus belli. Latin term meaning overriding cause. Used it twice to show off and make Sean look silly. Cheap trick Tom, and I am not impressed.

I think that I am done with Clancy's books.

Madaline albright is touring europe representing kerry. Imagine the devestation she will cause to US international affairs! Voters need to remember the dross of politics that he will put into the halls of our governemnt.

How will they remember and how will they be reminded? Team Bush better have some serious ads in the works.

I think it has more to do with the democrat party dying out. What is a politician to do when their acces to power is gone? How will a ted kenedy look important to the chineese if he is irrelevant at home? There will be no financial deals for hitlaries financial contacts if there is no democrat party.

This is on a level of the CSA being pushed out of the halls of power.

If Pres. Bush included more details in his speech, it could have turned into a doozer. He included enough, but not too much, IMO.

I think the old saying is "Leave 'em wantin' more." And we'll get it...this was a good start, though, IMHO.
