Wars are not only fought on the ground, they are also fought in the press. Any general or any other commander who does not understand that point is capable of losing in the press every battle that is first won on the ground.

If it is true that ground forces never got closer than two miles away at night, then it is a pretty good bet they had no idea who they were attacking before they attacked. I agree they need to get evidence out and they need to do it quickly.
