He will adjust the mix of his ideology—a little socialism one day, some Islam the next, a heavy dose of populism—to keep the revolution (i.e., his life and power) alive. He is not likely to do anything that will destroy all he has worked for. Hobbled by UN sanctions and his pariah status, he appears to have come around to the view that conciliatory diplomacy might be more effective in furthering Libya’s influence than proclamations of support for terrorists and revolutionaries."

You say that the President has to EARN your vote by doing some conservative things, but at the same time you say this country can't survive JfK (and it can't).
Hasn't he earned your vote by protecting us from grave danger and mass death?
Hasn't he earned your vote by strengthening and supporting the military?
Hasn't he earned your vote with strong pro-Life positions and strong pro-family, moral stances?
Hasn't he earned your vote by behaving honorably and with dignity, telling the truth, and telling it straight?
Why does he have to DO anything specific to guarantee your vote in November? Where is the line for you? How many things does he have to do that agree with you before he 'earns' your vote? (You know that I don't agree with everything he's done either........)

Fortunately fer me, I live in Virginia, where we ALWAYS give our electoral votes to the GOP candidate fer POTUS. Dubyuh will get Virginia's 13 electoral votes this November as well. My vote will not impact the election one way or the other.

I am a LOYAL supporter of Dubyuh on all these issues; however, when it comes to the issue of the Size and Scope of the Federal Leviathan, I reckon I'm sorta stubborn on that.

I've been working fer 20 years to get to a point where we have a GOP Congress and a GOP White House simultaneously. Then, when we finally accomplish that, I am struck by the FACT that Federal spending has grown 24% in three years. Adding 24% to an already HUGHly-bloated Federal Leviathan is like spitting in my face. I don't like it when anybody spits in my face, not even Dubyuh!!

I love you, too, ma'am, and hope this has somehow clarified my position. Considering the fact that I've voted Reagan/Bush/Bush/Dole/Bush since I've been eligible, I'm not taking this stance lightly. I realize this is an important election, but Dubyuh knows how to earn my vote...the next move's his.
Think about it, ma'am...if we froze Federal spending fer the next three years, we'd still have grown the Federal Leviathan by 4% per annum (24%/6 years). Too much growth fer me, but acceptable considering the present political climate!!

Where you still lose me is any hesitation of voting for him when you know that the alternative is unthinkable.
I also agree with voicing displeasure, but in the voting booth, it's all about the survival of this nation, IMO.
It won't matter how much we spend on prescription drugs and education if we're all dead.
