I am hopelessly behind again (still caring for Mom, who is home from the hospital and doing quite well), so I have no idea if anyone has posted about this here since yesterday; so the following is a brief synopsis:
Pres. Bush flew into Nashville yesterday, landing at 12:45 p.m. (my parking lot at work is directly in the flight path, about a half mile from the runway, so I got a thrill watching Air Force One pass overhead about 300' up!) At approximately 2 pm, an American Airlines jet en route from Dallas to Boston was diverted to Nashville when a note was found in the lavatory stating that there was a bomb on board in cargo. The plane was evacuated, FBI, Homeland Security and local authorities were called in, the passengers were questioned, and the plane was searched. Today, an arrest was made: an off-duty flight attendant (the one who "found" the note) admitted planting it. The note stated (paraphrased): "There is a bomb on board this flight in cargo. LIVE SADDAM!"
The press conference this evening, announcing the arrest, said there was no terrorist connection.

Very good news about your Mom, so glad to hear that.
As far as the off duty flight attendant being the one who made the threat, I heard that on FOX tonight. It made me wonder why would someone in that position do that? Very odd, trying to get time off, day off?? Well now he/she will have a lot of time off perhaps in jail.
