Word from the scene is that the blast happened around 11:30 a.m. News 4's Ray Preston reports that an officer on the scene says the crew was doing some sort of demolition work at the time of the blast.

Investigators are trying to determine exactly what caused the explosion. The crew was apparently using explosives to clear out soil and rock from an area. After a controlled blast the crew went in to drill holes for more explosives. There is speculation that while they were drilling they might have hit an unexploded charge left over from the previous detonation.

There is no word on the extent of their injuries.
