Passengers Removed From Plane When 9/11 Talk Alarms Others

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- At least two people were removed from a passenger plane at the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport on Wednesday after their conversation about the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks alarmed other passengers, authorities said.

FBI spokesman Paul Moskal said shortly after noon that members of the joint terrorism task force in Buffalo were headed to the airport to interview the passengers.

"My understanding is there were two or three individuals who boarded an outbound plane who were discussing 9-11," Moskal said. "It was in a fashion that made some of the (other) passengers nervous. That information was relayed to the captain who turned around and taxied back to gate."

Officials from the Transportation Security Administration told WGRZ-TV the incident happened aboard a Continental flight from Buffalo to Newark, N.J. The flight eventually took off later than scheduled.
