I don't know, we are in a knife fight and there needs to be a way to report suspicious activity. Policemen check license plates of a suspicious vehicles. Maybe citizen's should be allowed to run license plates of observed suspicious activities against terrorism databases. Bring in the people and an important alarm may go off. I hate to suggest such a thing but no doubt it will be automatic process in the future.

I thought the idea was innocuous enough and not much of even a tweak at civil liberties because no identities would be involved.

But, I respect Jim's perspective and it is certainly his turf.

Tyranny is coming to the planet at an increasing rate. I don't really want to do anything to hasten it!

Thanks for posting that info. I had to be away from tv and radio today (arrggg!) and that is what I really wanted to see. Body language, speech inflection, etc. Knew I could find the words that were said, but, wanted to see the behavior. Thanks.

I dare not go outdoors, there may be more 'gifts', I have 3 kitties in the house now. I am pretending that if they want me they will call me, the other 3 did.

Meowtrix is a terrorist, he can't pass another baby without Slapping them. Sharp as a tack and he now handles his own sandbox. For which I am thankful, it seems all I do, is drop a baby in the sand, 24 hours a day.

Go do something, adopt a kitty or puppy, share some love.

I will say it, without apology, I'm on edge. The election, the terror threat, the overall uncertainty. If you don't feel fear now, you're not prepared. It's not that cut and run fear, it's that stand up to fight fear. The decision is made. All there is to do now is experience the sizzle, the electricity, put your nose into the air and your tongue behind your teeth and reach out into the night for the scent.
If you have ever watched a nature film, you may have witnessed a behavior known as "stotting". It's when a gazelle or anteloper bounces up and down in an otherwise calmly feeding group of animals. Stotting is a signal to the predator it has been spotted, if you're going to take you're shot, take it now.
I don't think Americans are very good "stotters". We are used to being the predator. Being the prey is an indication of weakness. We feel uncomfortable and want to be back in charge of our lives. Walk down the street, know our neighbor is our a neighbor and not some infiltrator.
I would like to think our "stotting" as a positive. We do see you. We know what you want. We may not know from which direction you are coming. If you're going to take your shot, take it now.

I have nothing specific for 6/11. Just pointing out that they focus on 11's -- 9/11 in NYC and 3/11 in Madrid.

Alas, many of us are hug starved because there's just not too many willing candidates available.

For those, old folks' homes; hospitals where some have few or no visitors etc. can be good places to take a caring walk.

Senior citizens centers can also be a great place to spread and receive hugs.

Churches? Depends. Some do a great job at phoney hugs, if that's what one is in the market for. Others are great at authentic ones. Ask around.
