A popular folk singer who lived for more than 20 years in Brooklyn has been arrested in Haiti by U.S. marines who accuse her of plotting against American troops there.

But relatives of the woman, Annette Auguste, known professionally as So Anne, say she did noting unlawful and they accuse Marines of using grossly excessive force -- including her two pet dogs and arresting and handcuffing her five-year-old grandson.

"It seemed like they were going after Osama bin Laden or something," said her son Reginald Auguste, who lives in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn.

I passed on the job per the advice of the woman who had the job before me. Best lunch money I spent that summer. There are usually reasons for job openings. If the departing employee is still there, I've always favored taking them to lunch if it appears the job will be offered to me. Exactly my point. Criss-crissing the USA could be all sorts of goodies meant to bring down our country. I'm sure I'm a minority because of "privacy issues" in our country, but I'd sure rather see random checks on U-Hauls than nuclear bomb damage reports because it wasn't done. This is, after all, a time of war and the enemy is within.

Again, exactly my point. The Patriot Act evidentally has no teeth. The bite is empty when the the terrorists walk away from what is obviously pre-emptive planning. You and I are not experts Indie, but we both know that all of our country's bases are not covered and our people who are supposed to be wielding the bat are striking out.

The detainees and prisoners recently released from these prisons now have even more reason to want us dead. It boggles the imagination to wonder how powerful the media, the liberals and countries that would nuke us in a NY minute are to have caused us to eat crow.

* Have any of these US companies reported to their banks that they are involved in financial transactions with a Designated Terrorist Entity?


* Have any of those banks reported those transactions to the US Treasury's Office of Foreign Asset Control?


As a case in point, for the last two years we have reported on Alabanza hosting one Hizbollah site or another. Some sites move, but the accounts themselves remain active, and new sites are hosted in their place (e.g. the moqawama and intiqad sites, numbers 5 and 13 below).

BOGOTA, Colombia -- A bomb planted by suspected rebels exploded in a crowded discotheque in northwest Colombia, killing at least six people and wounding 82 -- the bloodiest in a series of attacks marking the 40th anniversary of Colombia's main rebel group.

Another bomb blew up early Sunday at a pool hall in the Caribbean port city of Cartagena, killing one person and wounding three. It was not immediately clear who was behind that attack.
