Ship Sinks Near Singapore After Crash

SINGAPORE - A ship carrying 4,000 cars sank after colliding with an oil tanker just south of Singapore, authorities said Sunday.

The collision between the tanker MT Kaminesan, carrying nearly 279,950 tons of crude oil, and car carrier MV Hyundai occurred late Saturday night, the Maritime and Ports Authority of Singapore said.

"Prior to the collision, warnings were given to the two vessels by the MPA's vessel traffic information service. The two vessels also communicated with each other," it said in a statement.

The accident occurred four miles southeast of the resort island of Sentosa, authorities said.

All 20 crew members of the Hyundai were rescued before it sank, the authority said. There was no immediate leak of oil from the Panama-registered Kaminesan, Maritime and Ports Authority spokeswoman Theresa Pong said.

The oil tanker was being towed into Singapore's port. Its 26 crew remained onboard.

In Seoul, a spokesman for Korean carmaker Hyundai, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the sunken ship was carrying both Hyundai and Kia cars and said they were gathering more informationon the accident.

Pong said both ships were transiting through the city-state, one of the world's busiest ports.

The way things are going, even if LEO found dangerous chemicals [red mercury!] etc inside the U-Hauls, they would let the folks go anyhow as has already happened in Canada...and here with the "israelis."

Anyway, a private [non-commercial] trailer can not be searched without a warrant, even if the driver is arrested. A very private way to go, eh? And the jihadis know this I'm sure....

Whoever is setting their guidelines for releasing terrorists

I'm no Patriot Act expert, but it seems the lawyers fouled up another one. Rather than making additional activities illegal, and thus giving the police more tools with which to arrest the bad guys, they have instead only made it easier to eavesdrop, search, confiscate...what good are these things if the activities ONLY associated with bad guys are still legal [filming nuclear power plants, etc!]!!??

They have stripped more of our rights, in return for ...what?? They're still letting all the bad guys go [Gitmo, Iraqi prison, would-be terrorists in the US] so how did the Patriot Act help us????

WHAT is WRONG with this picture???????!!!

We don't need no stinking experts! We have brains! And the lawyers [our alleged "representatives"...BWAHAHAHA!] are our worst enemy, right up there with the press and the commies and the NWO folks.

/ rant...but a good rant :)

N.J. STATE POLICE TRAIN TO DETECT SUICIDE BOMBERS

Training Will Begin Next Month

POSTED: 6:29 pm EDT May 22, 2004
UPDATED: 6:38 pm EDT May 22, 2004

TRENTON, N.J. -- State police next month will begin training how to detect suicide bombers, according to a published report.

Law enforcement sources said there have not been any specific threats to New Jersey, The Express-Times of Easton, Pa., reported in Saturday's editions.

But Roger Shatzkin, a spokesman for the state Office of Counterterrorism, told the newspaper that such an attack is "viewed as a sort of a next logical threat."

Since the Madrid bombings, transit officials and state police have been keeping a close eye on transportation systems.

"We're dealing with an international issue, and we look at what is going on around the world. We assume that anything can happen here, and we prepare," Shatzkin said.

Starting next month and lasting until August, state police will learn how to spot suicide bombers, said state police Lt. Al Della Fave. He said experts will teach how to make the detections.

"This is a horrific type of scene to respond to, and we want (personnel) to know in advance," he said.

The FBI said tip-offs to suicide bombers include people wearing unseasonably warm jackets and people smelling of chemicals.

Most Palestinians do not have Isreali citizenship, so don't have access to an Israeli passport. Some have passports from friendly Arab countries, but most Palestinians either use a Palestinian passport or a special travel document from the UN High Commission on Refugees.

As of 1997, the Palestinian passport was recognized by these countries:
Austria Algeria Bahrain Belgium Britain
Greece Denmark Egypt Israel India
Jordan Italy Qatar Cyprus China
Morocco Emirates Russia Romania U.S.A
Tunisia Turkey France Switzerland Sweden
South Africa Spain Germany Brazil Holland
Malta Pakistan Yemen Finland Bulgaria
Norway Colombia Chile Portugal Canada
Oman Kazakhistan Poland Peru Zimbabwe
Turkmanistan Thailand Vietnam Argentina Tajakistan
Uzbakhistan Kirkizistan Senegal Mauritania Belize
Australia Yugoslavia Lithuania Bolivia Nicaragua
Costa Rica Cuba Estonia Latvia Hungary
Uruguay Solvakia MEXICO Malaysia Lebanon

President fell off bike today... Kerry told reporters in front of cameras, 'Did the training wheels fall off?'... Reporters are debating whether to treat it is as on or off the record... Developing...{Drudge}

There would be no debate whatsoever had President Bush said this about Kerry.

I didn't think it was possible to dislike Kerry more than I already did.

That happened in my county, about 15 miles from the spot where the empty missle launcher was found on the commuter train tracks.
