It could have very easily been the new crescent moon, if it was large enough to be seen by the naked eye.
Venus is a crescent now also, but I don't think you can see the crescent with the naked eye, at least my eyes aren't that good!!
That graphic would have been more informative if Bush and Kerry had been spaced apart half an inch or so in the middle.

It was on the wrong side of the sky to be the moon. This was facing West. Would the cresent be along the bottom part of the moon? Imagine a round saucer with the bottom edge lighted.

Police Search Amtrak Train After Bomb Threat
Philadelphia police searched a Washington-bound Amtrak train two miles outside 30th Street Station last night after an anonymous bomb threat was phoned in.
Police said someone phoned Baltimore police and said a bomb was on board Amtrak's 2175 Acela train bound for Washington. The threat was forwarded to Amtrak, which had Philadelphia police stop the train at 33d and Montgomery Streets.
K-9 dogs and members of the counter-terrorism unit then searched the train. No bomb was found, and no passengers had to disembark. Police said the search began about 10:15 p.m., and the train was allowed to proceed at 10:58 p.m.

Amtrak Intercepts two Washington-Bound Trains
Posted on Fri, May. 21, 2004 LINTHICUM, Md. - Amtrak police stopped and searched two Washington-bound trains, a spokesman for the passenger railroad said.
Police called Amtrak dispatchers on Thursday night to halt trains 2171 and 2175, both Acela Express trains from New York, so officers and dogs could search them, said Marc Magliari, the Amtrak spokesman.
One train was north of Philadelphia when it stopped; the other was near Baltimore-Washington International Airport. Both were delayed for more than 40 minutes but subsequently finished their routes.
Magliari declined to comment further.

The device — described by a commuter rail official as a motion detector similar to a garage door opener — was turned over to the FBI (news - web sites).
No arrests have been made and no extra security precautions have been taken, in part because rail officials were already on high alert because of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks and the March 11 train bombing in Spain that killed 191 people.
"If somebody leaves a briefcase, we call the bomb squad," said Tim Whitaker, a spokesman for the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority.
A SEPTA police officer spotted the small device May 13 in a West Philadelphia rail yard where trains are stored. Tracks that carry commuter trains are nearby, but there is no passenger station in the area, Whitaker said.
The discovery of the device had not led to any delays and trains were running on schedule Friday, officials said.
The FBI did not immediately return a telephone message Friday morning.
Meanwhile, Amtrak officials would not comment on why two Acela Express high-speed trains were stopped and searched Thursday night. Both were bound for Washington, D.C., from New York.

I understand that.
I just would prefer such graphics to be more graphically informative as they are. It may be the screen size but it was also placement in the center and the thinness of the lines--at least for these old eyes.

They must have something more than we know.......or that infrared device that they said wasn't terr/related IS.

Or, the little "trouble makers" (calling in bomb threats) are doing their jobs. Remember when they were told to act suspicious or do everything possible to keep LE busy. Diversions. Which to me means they are getting closer to their grand finale. I hope we can close the curtain on their act before it happens. But as Rumsfeld says they only have to be right once we have to be right all the time to stop them.
Did I just hear a guy on Fox say that it's possible someone just dropped that infrared device there? Which by the way became hidden all by itself!

You bet they have more. Same with the rocket launcher found near the Atlanta tracks. Not only was the infrared sensor hidden, but it was painted black to camoflauge it.

Yes, most of the news outlets are still offering the "Nothing to see here...move along" comments at the end of these very troubling stories. Same type of reporting that was done during the sniper incidents in VA with Malvo.
It seems that the "appearance" of normalcy and a companies "bottom line" are more important than safety for their customers. I don't want an all out panic by the train riding public; but riders getting enough information to make informed choices would be nice.
If you try to check for the latest headlines you find NOTHING on any of the terror stories floating around. All you see are stories about the prison abuse in Iraq. That has to be the one story I'm not following and couldn't care less about.
