Boycott Brad Pitt In the movie "Troy"!
May 14, 2004 | John Arcari (JLAGray Fox)

Posted on 05/14/2004 5:55:00 AM PDT by JLAGRAYFOX

Please boycott the movie "Troy: that releases today. Brad Pitt, a rabid Bush hater and support of "Traitor" Democrat John Kerry needs to take a beating in this movie. If the movie does not do well at the box office Pitt is toast as an actor!

I'm not sure how other posters have proven Jackman's sexuality. I don't honestly care one way or the other in the end, but having a wife isn't exactly proof of one's sexuality in Hollywood.

My understanding is that Pitt is not a Bush hater, but his brain-dead wife Jennifer Aniston is. In fact, when Jennifer was bashing Bush, Pitt told her to "knock it off" and arranged a hastily scheduled conference where he said he supports the war and Bush's policies.

Now that doesn't make him FReeper material but he's not a knee-jerk leftist like the rest of Hollywood, either. Plus he's a great actor. Loved him in "Kalifornia."

I love the Illiad and Greek mythology so I did see it this morning. It's not the best movie ever made, but I liked it.

Want to know why very rich people like taxes?

It's easy - it eliminates the competition.

Confused? Let me explain.

In the absence of taxes, wealth can be created and accumulated almost instantly.

Taxes have the effect of slowing down the rate of growth.

High taxes slow down the rate of growth to a crawl, such that no one can achieve wealth in their lifetime.

The very wealthy of course, already own their wealth. They own land, companies, investments, houses, etc.

You will never compete with their ownership because you are taxed to death.

They don't worry about losing wealth due to taxes. Taxes rarely cause a negative income. And with the available legal and financial resources at their disposal, the very wealthy rarely pay taxes - ask Teresa Heinz.

High taxes preserve the 'Class System'. Born poor, stay poor. Born rich, stay rich.

Now that they are rich, the Hollywood Left can't wait to raise YOUR taxes to fund THEIR favorite cause to assuage their guilt of being rich.

Box Office Mojo gives it a B-, but says Eric Bana (Hector) stole the show. Another review says Orlando Bloom should've been given more face time.

Eric Bana was great. Every time I saw Orlando Bloom with a bow and arrow I kept seeing Legalos in my mind. I definitely want to see the movie one more time at the theater before it leaves the big-screen and heads to DVD and video.

There may be references to the gods, but if there is not direct participation of the gods (Hector was killed by Achilles with help from Athena, for example) then the story is really not the same.

I'll bet $5,000 US that that's been a promise made to each & every one of the losers Hollywierd's been shoving down our throats for at least the past 10 years.

I'll kick in a grand. Its almost obvious. They have become political avatars that keep coming up in images and celluloid

I hope videos of Brad Pitt that he made for himself before he hit it big in Hollyweird become available on the Net. A lot of self-indulgent preening and prancing. (cough! homo!)

You know, if I were an actor or entertainer I would never let anyone know what my politics were. Why take the chance and upset. possibly, half your customer base. Now I don't boycott all movies, just the ones that have brainless morons in them that don't have a clue about what is going on in the world around them, like Brad Pitt and his "not the sharpest knife in the drawer" wife. I certainly intend to see Shrek II with my grandkids and Spiderman II with my grandkids, but mostly for myself. I love Tom Hanks, Morgan Freeman, Denzel Washinton, Mel Gibson, in just about anything they do. Why? These are "real" actors with great talent and superior artistic abiltities. When one objectively judges the acting range of a Denzel Washington in multiple diverse roles such as in "Glory", "Philadelphia", "The Rookie" I don't care what their politics are. Brad Pitt, on the other hand fo objectivity does not deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Denzel Washington. It's the untalented, uninformed and brainless like Pitt, Anniston, etc. that I refuse to support!!!

..No can do - I plan on seeing the movie this weekend - maybe even again (if the movie is any good). The Illiad just happens to be my favorite story....

From the reviews, you won't be seeing your favorite story this week-end. Let us know what your impression is after you get a chance to see it.

and saying you heard someone is homo doesn't make it so either.

So true. How many men here who have older wives and adopted children are gay too?

What a crazy world we live in when you have to PROVE you're not gay. *SIGH*

Also, when Brad was asked about the war in Iraq, he said, 'I'm an actor! Who cares what I think.' He also added that whether or not you're for or against the war, you should support the President and country nonetheless.

If you love THE ILLIAD,you'll HATE this movie. From what I've read, this movie bears very little resemblance to anything Homer (or whoever actually wrote it)set down.Hokey as some of it was,the old Kirk Douglas ULYSSES was truer to THE ODYSSEY,than this movie is to THE ILLIAD.
