Great news of our great military. This should be on the front page of the newspapers.

So, what we actually had going was "strategery"? I'm shocked, shocked, shocked. /not

But, but I've seen so many posts here on FR that say that
You refer, of course, to our own FR arm-chair long-distance generals? These would be the same ones who told us that the reputation of the Marines had suffered the greatest damage in their history because they were ordered to fall back from the city?

Thank you so much for posting this, I am just thrilled to read this today. Our military is so far ahead of the media and the pundits. And President Bush and Rumsfeld are strong men to take this criticism and give the men and women on the ground the chance to execute their plans. I love this part as an example of how far ahead of the pack the military is:
Last year in April while the main war was still going on to defeat Saddam Hussein's military, I myself gave a class to my company of the 16th Engineers about the threat posed by Sadr and the prospects for conflict with his militias. Though my fellow soldiers didn't appreciate having to attend a class at 8am on one of our last days before deploying to Baghdad, they can tell you that what is happening now is no surprise.

Many soldiers here at Knox are fuming today from watching the brutal execution video. We made our re-enlistment goals already for the quarter and more soldiers are volunteering to stay in ONLY if they are allowed to deploy to Iraq and fight. We're all upset with the actions of those few miscreants in the prison, but we are confident the UCMJ proceedings will deal with themGreat news from the home of the 2d best branch of the Army!

Bump for a worthwhile read . . .
I think I'll e-mail this to that yellow-dog democrat father of mine.
To: Steve_Seattle; Stillwaters
Very interesting; the media critics had assured us that Sadr's actions had taken our military completely by surprise, that we had never even heard of him. Apparently the facts are otherwise. Ping!

This young soldier is one very sharp man (or woman?).
Stands head and shoulders above many political "leaders" in this country.Could we set the bar a bit higher. I've seen flatworms that stand head and shoulders above many political "leaders" of this country.
I don't want to mention any names(Mark Dayton) DARN that just slipped out. Forget I even mentioned Teddy Kennedy
