Maybe I should have said that it was used as an excuse for one man's death already.
That suit you better?

Shes a disgrace, but I suspect that what shes saying is at least half true.
But isn't half a truth still be a lie?
I suppose she was ordered to smile in the pictures too?

" find it humorous that you are demanding "coherent" replies. You don't seem to be able to post without denigrading other posters."
I only denigrated one other poster on this thread, and I did it very coherently.

Not much is coming out about her and chasing tornadoes means diddley. Hardly defines character. Getting pregnant by a fellow soldier does. Participating in illicit photos does. Blaming someone else is probably standard procedure during her lifetime. Looks like rules (Civil and moral) mean nothing to her.

Oh get off your high horse. Everytime someone tries to draw a comparison to anything the Nazis said or did, it always comes down to cries of outrage about how dare one compare the event/issue in question to what Nazis did. Would it have been better for you if I had drawn a My-Lai reference?
I didn't say that the solider in question was a Nazi, nor did I suggest in any way that the acts committed against the Iraqi POWs were equivalent to what the Nazis did to the Jews. I merely pointed out the similar and, as far as I'm concerned, pathetic excuse made by the solider in question (one who is supposed to be representing this country to the world) that any action taken while wearing the uniform of a United States soldier is okay as long as you're "just following orders".
In case you haven't figured it out by now, the U.S. is not going to win the war in Iraq with bullets and bombs alone. If you believe differently, you are an idiot. Washington will not allow the sort of force necessary to deal with Fallujah, Sadr City, etc. Distateful as it may be to you, sooner or later we're going to have to win the trust AND RESPECT of a sufficient number of Iraqis to create a tipping point where the Iraqis will realize that following a democratic and rule of law-based role model like the U.S. (and rejecting fundamentalist mullahs and foreign militants) makes sense in how their country is to be run. The dumb-a$$ soliders and their commanding officers that perpetrated the acts now under the spotlight of the world have thrown up a big fat obstacle towards that goal. While 99.99% of the soliders on the ground in Iraq are likely dong the right the thing, the entire U.S. military presence in Iraq has now been tainted. That translates into less trust and respect for the U.S. in Iraq. At a minimum, that means the U.S. will likely be spending even longer than planned in Iraq. That likely means more dead American soldiers.
So if you're offended by the Nurenburg reference, too f'ng bad. I'm frankly offended that I'm going to be watching the U.S. stuck in this rathole of a country even longer than necessary thanks to the likes of the twits overseeing the Iraqi POWs.

Even if this is true, etc. etc. she should not be allowed to interview to the press until the investigation is finished.

"I was instructed by persons in higher rank to stand there and hold this leash and look at the camera," she said. Umm...I don't think she was looking into the camera in that picture.

Her chain of command is nevertheless culpable for this. She followed unlawful orders if she's telling the truth; if she is not, she and the others were inadequately supervised and trained, to say the least.
How many links up should the courts martial go? I think even Rumsfeld knows there may be no limit, legally. :sigh:

I agree, but not as far up as Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld should be able to trust that his underlings follow the rule of law/military law.

"She's a liar and a disgrace...quit using liberal tactics..."
It appears you are the one using kangaroo court socialist tactics...you have her in prison already. All I'm saying is wait for the trial. You don't know the facts.
To: Iron Matron
Well, "should be" is perhaps far more optimistic than anyone inheriting Clinton's military should have been. :-(

That female brig. General running the place sure looks like a klintonite military man.
I wonder if the democrats paid any of the participants in order to cause a scandal? Is this too bizzar to consider?

If you can't see the Nurenburg parallel, that's your blind follower hang-up, not mine. How many enlisted personnel were tried at Nuremburg?
To: Camerican
I know it's difficult for you to get but let me repeat anyway: the photos have been blown out of all proportion. Whether or not this soldier excuses her involvement by blaming her superiors matters not in the least. She will do whatever it takes to get herself exonerated...and that is her right. The point is that these pics don't really matter except to the Leftist and Muslim US hating world which has found a convenient politically correct "offense" to use against our military.
One more thing about these so called prisoners of war: the Geneva Convention does not apply to international terrorists and it has not yet been determined who these scums were that were "humiliated" by posing in the nude with their faces covered.
Again I ask that you and a couple other whiners on this list refrain from comparing any one of these few soldiers under investigation with the national socialist soldiers of WWII until at least all the facts are completely known. At this point they are far from that!
